I set up a new Staples account and received a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase. I was able to stack it with the $20 off coupon to knock this deal down to $119.99 (+ filler item).

It took 4 days to receive the $10 off coupon in my email.
It also had an expiration date of 2/5/21. I don't know if that's a set date of 2/5 for everyone, or if it's a certain amount of days from the date I received the coupon (exactly 7 days).

here is a $10 off coupon code for the first one to get to it... it can stack

8856385160317791

you can get more of these from signing up for their email newsletter thing while browsing their site, but i think it takes like, til the next day to get it in your email. feel free to try the gmail trick to sign up for the newsletter multiple times, no idea if it will let you use multiple of them on one order, but i know at least one will stack with the existing promo code in this deal

tons of people here use it. Staples Hyken and this one are the most popular chairs here. the Dexley is a slightly wider and taller version of the Hyken and it is better suited for people above 5'8" or so and better for heavier people.

i myself am a short heavy person at 5'7" and 250 lbs. I bought the Hyken anyway because after a ton of research, i read several mentions in user reviews about one would-be fatal flaw in my eyes for the Dexley. when you lock it in its upright position, it still leans back a few inches before the lock actually engages, so you can never have the chair locked in a truly upright position. after using the Hyken for about a week now, I have it locked a few inches back most of the time anyway, so in hindsight I don't think the that tilt lock issue with the Dexley would have actually been a big deal. the way the lumbar thing sticks out, it doesn't really feel like the chair is leaning back much.

as a large person with short-ish arms, I find the distance between the arm rests of the Hyken to be a pretty good fit after I used the allen wrench to adjust them to their widest positions on the underside of the chair. however, the actual seat width is a tad narrow and my thighs do press against the plastic edge of the seat under the mesh a bit. it's not THAT bad, but I probably would have appreciated the extra seat width afforded by the Dexley. oh well, another hopefully motivating factor to lose weight: this would become a GREAT chair for me instead of a very good chair once my width fits in the seat a bit better.

having said all that, i do find the Hyken chair to be comfortable, and the lumbar thing is pretty good. the headrest height seems just about right for me - maybe one inch too low, but it's not that bad. it mostly aligns with the back of my head/neck. assembly was kind of tough to do with just one person once it came to attaching the back to the seat, but not too bad otherwise.

in summary, the Dexley probably would have been a better choice overall because i am a larger person. if you're more like 210 lbs or under and 5'7" or under the Hyken is probably a better fit for you.

a lot of people will say if you have a budget from $250-400, go find a used Herman Miller Aeron because it's the "perfect" chair. if finding a used one of those is not possible, a lot of people consider the WorkPro Quantum 9000 to be the next best thing. that chair has been available in previous slickdeals in the $200-250 range but I believe the current cheapest is at GoVets.com if you use the promo code govets10 it's around $290. people say the difference in quality from these $120-130 chairs and the WorkPro is very clear, and still yet people say the difference between the WorkPro and the Herman Miller Aeron is also clear.

but i am happy enough with the Hyken/Dexley for hopefully a year or two, maybe more.

Great review! I currently own the Dexley, the Hyken (for my wife), and Quantum 9000, and have used several Aeron and similar chairs via work. While I do agree that the Q9000 is a step up, this chair posted is still a great chair and easily worth the price here. You don't have quite the same degree of ergonomic adjustment available, the aesthetics and components are slightly inferior, and I can't speak to customer service for the dexely but I lost a part to the Q9000 in a move and customer service sent me a replacement promptly without charge. I know several people who work selling office furniture and could easily get setup to buy second-hand Herman Miller, Steelcase Gesture, etc. But I just haven't felt like I have needed to having tried all of those options. Now, if I had a medical condition where I was more sensitive to getting just the perfect ergonomic chair, then yes I'd probably upgrade. And I like that I'm not using a chair that previously cushioned a stranger's butt for extended periods. But for the majority of people this chair (or the Hyken if you're smaller) are all you'll need.

I'm skinny and tall. I'm selling this chair on Craigslist because though it's comfortable short term. The mesh in general is just not as comfortable to sit on as oppose to an actual leather cushion chair. I just found the hard mesh though supportive, to just not be suitable for working and gaming sessions for long periods of time. Maybe I'm the unusual case but I'm in that chair anywhere from 6-8 hours a day without fail if not 10 hours.

Just wasn't for me but I can see why people like it.

Just got it last week. I'm sure there are better chairs, but I think I paid a bit more than this deal and am happy with it. If you're interested in a mesh ergonomic chair then I'd definitely get it. Thecl Lumbar support and the reclining are nice. Didn't try the hyken, but can't imagine I'd prefer it either.

I used the $10 email setup plus the $20 coupon code to bring the price with tax to $127 (for some reason i had to add a $0.39 notepad filler) and the 5% cash back will reward another $7.52 for a total of $119.48 delivered

I was going back and forth between the Dexley and Hyken because i am 5-11" and 193lbs and all i read is that Dexley is for tall people but i was right in the middle of Dexley and Hyken.
Last night i went to Staples and after sitting in both chairs and playing around with them i went with Dexlely. It was mostly due to the added width in seating/armrest area as well as the headrest being at the right spot, I also felt the seat bottom was more comfortable than Hyken. The lumbar support seemed better in the Dexley as well (could not feel it in Hyken) and the softer armrest padding on the Dexley was nicer as well.

I went to staples yesterday and unfortunately they did not have one for me to try out. I am 6'1" 165lbs so I have been having trouble finding the right chair. The hyken was the perfect width and I liked the seat, but the headrest was at my shoulder blades and had minimal adjustments. The Tempur-pedic 6450 was honestly the most comfortable office chair that I have sat in and I spent a long time playing with the adjustments, but then I realized it was the only one that wasn't on sale, with a $300 MSRP.

I've seen some SD comments in various threads saying that the TP 6450 NEVER goes on sale for whatever reason so I took I took a chance with the Dexley for $129, without being able to try it out. I've seen it described by many as a bigger hyken. Hopefully the seat isn't too wide for my skinny butt. I'll report back after I receive it and try it out.

I tried all the chairs including whatever Tempur pedics they had iavailable and i felt their seats felt like some padding on hard MDF board and that the Dexley was more cushioned feeling for me. Plus I dont have to worry about any padding failing/flattening out after a while. I purchased the 3yr coverage as well for $19 for no hassle money back to buy another chair if anything happens to the Dexley.

The 3-year coverage is $49.99 not $19. It says so right on the page, and I chatted with Staples. You have to buy their $200+ plan because of the chair's original price.
