From what I understand there is not much home automation you can do with this as it's not compatible with Alexa or Smart Things.
The most unreliable piece of technology that I own. 60% of the time, it works every time.
That's why I picked up a Meross adapter and bypassed the entire MyQ system. Works with everything. 👍 Goes on sale from time to time as well.

This is the "new" version, I bought the "old" version at Best Buy last month for $20 on this deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/15026194-chamberlain-myq-smart-hub-wifi-garage-door-opener-w-smartphone-control-20-at-best-buy?v=1

Too late to return it now, but (knock on wood) no problems, yet.

So this is the " new" version over the black colored model but I don't believe that even this will support HomeKit. You can use the app on your phone to open and close the garage door but you can't ask Siri to do it like when you're driving and there's no CarPlay app (dumb). If they'd at least add a CarPlay app (easy to do) we could do away with the RF fobs.

$16 for the HomeKit version would be a steal, hence this is NOT the HomeKit version.

E: the HomeKit support comes from the MyQ Home Bridge which you'd need in addition to this $16 MyQ kit to control your garage door with Siri (unless your garage door has MyQ built into it).

Works great. Got a hub and an extra sensor last time it was on sale for $20. I have only had to reprogram 1-door once, in last 6-months. I just bought another hub to cover my 3rd garage door. You set alerts and notifications. I had the best luck mounting hub in the back of the garage. Can't go wrong for $17.

Finally got around to installing the old version of this on my 5 garage doors, they work great. Any difference in this version other than looks?

I've honestly had no issues so not sure i this is on your unit or your wifi that might be causing issues. Only complaint is that sometimes the alerts are delayed a few minutes?

Get alerts on scheduled times (9PM-8AM) of open/close and have schedule on both to close the 2 doors if left open after 9:15PM in case kids or something.

I'll concur with these opinions.

Very long story short, I had one of these units and it worked fine on an older model Genie opener. Then I upgraded the opener and you'd think newer = better, right? Not with this - I couldn't get it to pair with the MyQ for the life of me, and after a slew of emails/calls to Chamberlain over a $20 device, they tried to tell me, basically, that their manual was incorrect (and their website too), and my opener really wasn't compatible.

So I bought a Meross and never looked back. Install is a bit more involved though - even if you use existing wiring you'll still need to wire a prox sensor for the door (not horrible to do, just more complicated than sticking a sensor on the door like the MyQ), but note that this method of door position sensing is far more accurate than an attitude sensor (MyQ).

I don't really integrate it much, but I do know that getting it to work with Amazon devices is a breeze and intuitive - as in "Alexa, close the garage door". It also seems there is far more functionality to the app vs. MyQ as well.

But does provide some good features I needed. Like send notification if it is open for certain duration, opened, closed etc

Bought the "old version" last October for the same price, but amazon was throwing in a $30 promo GC at that time so it was essentially free. I've been using it for a while now, been working great for me...especially with Amazon Key orders. I don't have a covered porch, so now I don't have to worry about my Amazon packages getting wet.

Interesting. I don't use it a lot, but it's always worked when I needed it.
