$800 for a new Macbook air, probably won't last long. Seems the deal from last week for $100 off and next weeks student deal for $100 off are currently stacking.
Best Price for a macbook air, next best is $900 from the apple store with free airpods for education discount as well.

Also, this is $100 less than Apple's educational store, and $98 above the lowest open-box model at BB.
My only gripe on with the M1 powered macbook /macmini machines is the lack of HiDPI support for external monitors. When I hook my M1 Air up to my Dell U2502D QHD monitor, the images and text don't render well. This issue is well reported on and for some reason hasn't been addressed by Apple yet.
Didn't realize that was an issue since I rarely hook it up to a monitor. Also, my 24in Samsung is pushing 9 years so not a HiDPI monitor.

No more butterflies in new model.
I don't own one but from what I understand the way the new M1 processor uses RAM is different, so 8 is probably enough for casual use settings.

You need to realize this all changed with the new m1 chip. Difference between 8 and 16 gb is negligible in terms of performance unless you're doing 4k video editing or more intense.
