$800 for a new Macbook air, probably won't last long. Seems the deal from last week for $100 off and next weeks student deal for $100 off are currently stacking.

Best Price for a macbook air, next best is $900 from the apple store with free airpods for education discount as well.

From what I understand, there is NO upgrading on this laptop, whatsoever.

If you want more storage, you will have to use an external drive.

Edit: you could also use Cloud services for storage, if that works for you.

New mac has everything soldered on board which doesn't allow you to upgrade the laptop but external ssd for storage works great.

Both. I purchased one online last night and bought a 2nd in the store today. The 2nd one needed my 2nd account for the Student code they scanned at the store.

Yes, the M1 is fast

Yes, but if you want to be more efficient, MacBook Pro is recommended. But as a 4K editing machine, MacBook air can basically meet the demand

I really wish BB would sell the 16GB variants. 8GB is ok for most use cases, but anyone working with RAW photos will quickly wish they had more memory.

I have an iMac that I love. I do some video editing and use Lightroom on it. I don't plan on using a MacBook a lot for it but occasionally. Will this one do that or should I be looking at the pro?
