I spent $219 for a Dell refurb, newer than that, with 16gb ram + 512gb ssd. And it has a touchscreen, something that Fruit Computers are allergic to. In fact, it swings around to be a tablet AND a laptop.
This is not a good value, wake me up when it's half this price.
You missed the boat on that one but the $699-$749 price isn't a fluke. I'd wait for that to come back than sink money into an M1 for $629.
I just wanted people to have more options and also serve as a reference that now this is the lowest price for this config.

I'd love to get my kid a M1 but it gotta be $500 or less if it's 8gb.
