Mine came pretty much brand new with 3 battery cycles. I know few ppl had battery issues but there were many good units as well. I wouldn't mind ordering again, especially this product. Worst come worst, returns are easy if u have a wm close by. Even if u don't, they offer free return shipping labels. You may have to wait a week or so for ur refund when shipping it back.

disagree. I got airpod pro's 2 from them several years ago... and they're still holding up perfectly.

I am fuzzy on the whole open box distinction. Does that mean this will qualify for applecare?

The one I purchased the other day still has apple care through November 2026, as it was originally opened in November 2025. It had 2 cycles on battery and looked brand new. Others had similar experience, you can check on the links above to previous threads.

Maybe, but it's not guaranteed. Check out the previous threads. Lots of folks said they still had factory warranty remaining and were able to add on applecare.

Yes, this model originally came out in 2020, but these are newly manufactured in the last year or so. You can check the previous threads linked above. So the batteries are 1 year old +/- with 0-2 cycles on battery and 100% battery life.

I have great experience with vipoutlet. They have their website and sell from different platforms. You can buy where you have lower price. They have active customer service as well.
I bought few diff products from them before and all arrived in almost new and woked well.

Aside from the aesthetic condition, how else are you checking for quality on these? Sounds like you can look at battery cycles - presumably in the battery stats under settings. And I guess you can find factory warranty info somewhere in the settings as well? Anything else to check?

Chiming in on the laptop rather than the seller, I still use my M1 Air since 2020 for business, and it's still handling everything I throw at it very smoothly. if you get this laptop with Mac OS 26 installed, I would recommend downgrading to Sequoia instead. It will be much smoother. As for the warranty, I had similar situations where I bought open-box Apple devices and then sent Apple the receipt, and they activated their one-year warranty without asking any questions. YMMV.

So, an intel-branded, under-powered, space heater?

Is there a way to get a refund of the difference for those of us that bought at $346 for the same item?
