If you go into About this Mac / System Report / Power, post all the data you see there. That might help determine what's going on and what your Macbook sees.

suggest doing this with current charger, before you change anything.

The top battery status keeps switching to Not Charging. The System Report/ Power data showed 20% and not charging.

I tried with Lenovo 100e USB C charger rated maximum 45 W.


That worked and it's fully charged. In the meantime, I saw there OS update pending. I have downloaded that as well. Will try later today to charge again with the apple charger. But I believe, the charger doesn't kick in until it's below 90%

I've had nothing but problems with this. From running apps, to really slow performance not even doing anything intensive, to "your system has run out of application memory" message while having 5 tabs open mainly browsing.

It went back to Best Buy.

Interesting. I haven't used a lot in the way of 'apps' outside Office and a few browsers, but I routinely have a couple browsers opened with 15+ tabs each and have had nothing but snappy performance.

First MacBook Pro (2017) fell victim to "CATERR detected! No MCA data found." shortly after 3 years, including a vertical band screen discoloration. The later completely renders it worthless for trade-in. It's probably some faulty logic board according to Apple, but I'm not going to spend $450 to fix it. At least it was just the base model.

Hopefully, this M1 will last much longer than that.

The outsourced reps don't want a bad survey. Not that I blame them, but they should at least give correct info.
