The outsourced reps don't want a bad survey. Not that I blame them, but they should at least give correct info.

This or similar is on their website in several places:

"My Best Buy Points on Eligible Purchases:
*Apple and Beats products and Apple services are eligible to receive points under My Best Buy only when purchased on standard credit with the My Best Buy Credit Card. Otherwise My Best Buy members will not be eligible to receive points for purchase of Apple and Beats products and Apple services."
Thanks for the information. It makes sense. I also feel bad for reps having to often meet crazy metrics. Thanks for sharing. repped

So upset I missed this deal, as I really needed this before college starts next week. Does anybody know when this deal will be back? If I buy the 8gb/256 model now at $850 ($950-$100 student deal) and the price later drops to $750 ($850-$100 student deal), would Best Buy adjust the price?

I do know that the $100 student deal expires on 9/6, and the price match period is 15 days. I wonder what Best Buy's policy is in those overlapping days when the promo is over.

Negative, which sucks because I don't mind open box.

They currently only have open box-excellent for 853 near me—might as well get brand new for less! Refreshing the pages whenever I remember so if one pops up I'm snagging it.

tbh it only dropped to that price combined with the student discount. Maybe we'll see something like this at Black Friday.

So I went ahead and repurchased a space grey one. Base config.

The first one must have had an issue. Whatevs. I've had 30+ tabs open while having a music app playing, streaming 1080p material, and working on a Word or Excel doc (sometimes I forget to close or "hide" apps). It just doesn't lag. Everything is instantaneous.

This thing is unbelievable. Seriously. It makes every Windows laptop I've ever owned feel like a pos. The only other laptop not a Mac that even felt decent were the true Thinkpads, but in even this comparison, the M1 Air feels so solid and premium.I actually like the non-flat shape. It feels like it was carved out of a single piece of metal. The Thinkpads did have better keyboards however.

I never shut it off. I've been getting about 12 to 15 hours per charge depending on what I'm doing.Using this is the opposite of having "range anxiety." I don't even bother charging it unless I'm around 15%.

Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat all run without a hiccup.

SO glad I took the leap.

I'm going to be fair here, though; I'm slow to adjust to Mac OS. Things like copy and paste are a bit more complicated (command key and c, command key and v) than they should be. However, I've not yet used a mouse with it, just the trackpad (which is fantastic by the way).

I also am going to be diligent about keep my SSD backed up because it's fair to say I'd be freaked af if this thing bricked given that it's the whole SoC thing and everything is soldered onto the mb.

Never thought I'd own a Mac let alone be thinking I may never go back to Windows.
