"Need" lol.
I bought one from Costco last year as well.

As far as I remember, the only way to obtain 1440 and 75Hz is to use the displayport. I think it's strange that one of the hdmi ports is rated for 60Hz, then the other 50Hz. I believe the monitor is also over clockable up to 90ish stable.

For me, the VA panel works fine.
I have something similar from Costco bought a year ago: 34" Class Flat 3,440 x 1,440 Ultra WQHD. I use it 100% for work which involves spreadsheets. Text is not very clear, but I make the best out of it, but changing sharpness, contrast, and brightness. I like it because it's an ultrawide which helps with having to look at spreadsheets with lots of columns.

refresh rate kills it for gaming.

Subjective. Likely only kills it for a small minority of gamers.

I use one of the hdmi ports for a ps4...60hz paired to 60hz.

The reviews say this works much better on a display port cable.

Anyone tried that?

Does anyone use PBP function on this one and how does it look?

Also can I use 2 outputs from same laptop for PBP feature to split screens?

Good deal?
Not the best specs but decent price. If you don't need a monitor right away, there'll probably be better deals later in the year.

Try going through the windows cleartext wizard. It will configure a lot of under the hood settings for readability specific to your eyes.

Not this again. I've been gaming for 30 years at 60hz just fine thank you. I wonder how people gamed when 60hz is all we had? ROTFL!

Is 144hz better? yes
Does 75hz mean you cannot game? NO NO NO

I call BS!

No you do not and for decades people gamed just fine at 60hz because that's all we had. Stop spreading personal opinion as fact.

I play COD at 60hz all the time and you know what? It plays just fine, looks great and my computer does not blow up LOL

https://www.displayninja.com/144hz-vs-60hz/

Quote:

While it's true that a 144Hz refresh rate offers a more responsive and fluid fast-paced gaming experience, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best option for you – as there are alternatives.

In order to benefit from 144Hz, your FPS (Frames Per Second) in video games must also be around that number, which is (depending on your PC) mainly possible in undemanding and competitive games such as CS: GO, Overwatch, Fortnite, etc.

In case you mostly play more graphically-oriented games and the latest AAA titles, where you hardly surpass 60FPS at decent settings, a 144Hz monitor is unnecessary.

Instead, you can get a monitor with a better panel or a higher screen resolution for better details and visuals.

I got this monitor from Costco a few weeks back and it's heading back this week. I gave it a good test run and really wanted to like it but it just doesn't work for my needs.

If you're looking for a budget ultrawide with just one computer hooked up this might work for you.

I need something for my home computer (Windows 10 PC) and my work computer (MacBook Pro) to be hooked up simultaneously in picture-by-picture mode. This has the feature, but there are strange quirks that (based on reviews) seem to be endemic to this model. When I am using just one source the monitor will occasionally just turn off on it's own. I had this happen 4 times in one hour while I was active on the computer in a video call. The only way to get the screen back is to power cycle the monitor or toggle the inputs. It's not a power saving issue (I turned that off) and I have tried both HDMI inputs as well as Display port without success.

Also, when my MacBook goes to sleep the monitor does not reconnect on wake without cycling through the inputs.

When it works it's a great value but in the end it's just too fussy for my tastes.
