Yep thats the best way! haha. I'm already at 65" so I need 75 to get a wow factor
Tv game is cruel that way. You get used to whatever size you've got, and you can only go up. Anything smaller at another persons house is then disappointing as well. Yet, you get desensitized to whatever size you are at, so it loses that wow factor itself. And you can only be disappointed.
Plus at about 65 they get really hard for one person to move around EG for returns or repairs.
That said my 65 with dolby atmos sound bar is a pretty great and inexpensive ghetto home theatre, just find myself now wanting 75" :0
I believe it's a tradeoff, VA has much much MUCH better contrast than IPS. Which is a pretty gigantic deal. The reason everybody splurges over OLED is contrast. IPS IIRC is like 1000:1, VA's are 6 or 7,000:1.
Pretty much no major brand TV's that I know of are made using IPS anymore. LG had some IPS panel TV's and they were considered cheap low quality sets. Not sure if they do anymore.
I admit it is weird how for monitors IPS=good and for TV's=bad though. But typically in monitors you are comparing to horrendous TN panels.

What do folks here recommend for a bedroom office?

Thanks for clearing that up. You're right, my experience was with monitor technology, not tv's. And in the monitor world, most people prefer IPS.
I really wanted this to be VA but it's definitely IPS. Finally looked at one at BB and it was pretty easy to tell it wasn't VA. The salesman also pointed out the difference in how the panels react to pressure and the U6G had massive blotching compared to the minimum blotching of VA.
