Looks like this deal comes up every few months or so. I picked one up to to clean my gutters with the gutter cleaning kit. Hope to save money over having people clean my gutters!
Had the older version of the big orange Ridgid with the handle, turned it on the other day and smoke came out of the top. Just put a new hose, w/ all new attachments, the wrap around filter bag, a HEPA filter and a new drain cap at the bottom....figures.
.
Always, right? At least the hose and attachments will fit a variety of brands and maybe the filter will fit the new Ridgid. Or, maybe you can return. Personally, I like at least two hoses connected for distance, like when vacuuming out vehicle, but when sucking up water, one hose from the weight of water is usually better.
Friends and family have the Ridgid, while we started with and have owned several of the 6.5 Craftsman that just keep going. Made by Emerson, they were absolutely the best at the time for real suction and still at the top today. I gave away two that were at least 30 years old and while we pretty much used daily in shop, were still running. One had a bad switch that bypassed, it does turn on when plugging in, but it still works.
The so called dual function that work as a vacuum or blower all seem to lose suction over the single function vacuum. I suspect it is because of the gasket and connections to allow the motor head to be removable, but I avoid that model.

It's an old model so can't return. When you look at the parts list many of the important parts are NOT available. It was my favorite vac.....the new one like it is too expensive.
I went to the store and there was one with the label stating it comes with extra 2 bags included. None of the other boxes said so. I paid for it and opened it right away and there are 2 bags.
Did anybody else get it with bags?
I know it is not much. I think the 2 pack of bags is like $17 but it is nice I don't have to pay for them. I was looking for a smaller profile one but the extra bags pushed me to buy it.
Are you sure you got the 6.5 peak and not the 5.0 peak HP….

I have this vac (got it a couple years ago on some deal and it also included those free bags). I've never used them--I usually empty the vac'd up crud pretty quickly. Just got another vac on this deal for my son-in-law because it IS a great shop vac, ordered online and picked up and it has the free bags as well.
Usually the smaller Ridgids are the ones that are on sale, but this is the one I'd get... twice even.

No, I thought maybe you could return the parts you purchased.

Still plenty of suction.
