I was worried about that too, so I added Upsie warranty on the Hisense for peace of mind. So far loving the TV with gaming and movies. Hopefully it gets the Google TV update

Hoping for that price from a big box store like Best Buy.
Then I would be in for one.
By the time you add sales tax in it ends up +$850.

On the Hisense 65" U8G, Amazon is listing 10% cash back (5% regular + 5% bonus cashback). Look for the printed 10% back right above the '100 day no regrets guarantee'

For most people the u6g will be a better value. It's a clearly worse TV but the faults are easy to overlook. It's dimmer, has worse hdr, and doesn't support 120hz 4k

If you need 75" I'd wait for a deal on the U7G. It was as cheap as $1150 a month ago:

So it's worth waiting between now and Black Friday for a similar deal.
Both 75" U7G and U6G models are IPS panels meaning better viewing angles but worse contrast. Just note that most of the reviews out there for the U6G and U7G are of the 55" and 65" models which are VA panels.
You sacrifice some picture quality going from the U8G to the U7G, but here is a more in depth comparison:

In addition to what Kaze0 was saying, the U6G has a lower peak brightness meaning it will not be as good for HDR, compared to the brighter U7G and very bright U8G.
