Another Amazon problem: I cancelled Prime (bought a month to get the deal on this TV) because their 2 day delivery constantly takes 4 or more days now. I used to not mind it because everytime I complained about it they would give me a bit of credit or give me a month of prime for free, but now they just say "sorry it won't happen again"..... But it almost always does. I get that delivery to the rural US isn't always convenient but don't offer 2 days if you refuse to do 2 days and you refuse to make it right when you fail.
And I don't know why they bothered emailing me a movers coupon when I moved if they are gonna refuse to honor it. It was only 10% off anything $200 or less so I gave up without much of a fight, but it's insane that they will send that out then refuse to let you use it.
Anyways for this TV Amazon finally gave me my credit but only after fighting through several CS representatives AND going through a supervisor. This really is an asinine policy. Why would they rather have people refuse shipment and reorder the same product vs just issuing a credit? Surely anybody who cares enough to watch the prices is gonna realize that's an option and do it, and the shipping has to cost them more than simply adjusting the price. And it's not like I was asking them to PM or Best Buy, this is their own website/price.
Sorry for the long rant, it's extremely frustrating to see how they have devolved in the last few years. I guess the moral is it's better to buy this TV from Best Buy in case the price lowers again, because that price change more than ate up the extra 5% I am supposed to get back by buying on my prime card.
No dEal - - - Prices are nutz this year.
I paid $399 for my Hisense 55H8F less than 2 years ago in November.
It has the excellent picture quality and all the features of the 55U8G that is now selling for $849.99.
Over twice the price ? ? ? ?

Some additional specs out of the box
HDMI 2.1
E-arc
All the new gaming features
Dolby vision IQ (basically a profile with specific coloring and motion, you can switch to Dolby vision custom to override)
Even with those issues stellar tv, this things gets insanely bright, I don't ever run it at 100 unless the windows open to cut the reflection down.
Also, I have 55 inch LG C9 OLED and need to upgrade to a 65 - how bummed am I gonna be about losing oled vs mini-led? I mainly just watch TV and have an xbox series S that I play only from time to time.

Now I just need a reputable seller who doesn't charge tax, and allows returns, to price match this 😉.
