Only reason would be if you are already on the x570 platform and thinking of upgrading which is unfortunately my case

Switching to Intel involves getting a new MB, memory, etc. Don't know if that's worth it. Anyhow neither are in my budget. Good luck!

I did just that. Had the 3950x for a while but cut the cord and went for the 12900k instead. Intel architecture works infinitely better for some things.

It's actually not much more expensive. Mobo was $220 (Z690 but now they're releasing all the other cheaper chipsets) but the CPU was $120 cheaper, so only $100 difference. I used my DDR4 RAM I had.

I made up the $$$ difference by turning off my HVAC system this winter.
