Actually, it looks like you can get the same from Samsung directly, and if you have both an Education account with them and a 10% popular cashback site, the total cost is about $177 after CA tax.

Dang, this is like a historical low price for this drive or very close, no? (Assuming extra 15%.) If I wasn't already swimming in nvme drives I'd bite. Now, if the Hynix P31 drops to this price, I wouldn't be able to resist

An amazon prime credit card only gives you 5% back. The "learn more" link doesn't have the drive listed to save "up to 25%".

There is no real difference between right? Just a speed difference on a chart, nothing actually noticeable in daily use.

Pro is gen 4. This is gen 3. Double the speed. You will notice a slight differents and it works with ps5, the 970 doesnt work witb ps5. For $50 difference. I would go with the 980pro. Even if you use it in gen 3 motherboard it runs alot cooler and effecient than the evo ar same speed

My computer only supports gen 3 and I don't have a PS5. I think this is a nice ssd for the price. Not sure if that honey cashback is still available or not. If it is, you save like $40 on top of the $20 student discount.
