I was looking at the recent deal for $800 for the 75' TCL 5 series but didn't pull the trigger becasue I was really hoping for an 85' type tv.

I'm noticing this TV seems to be rated every so slightly higher on rtings with an 8.0 vs 7.7 on TCL. Is this TV indeed better? It would be for my living room set up. We sit about 110 inches from the TV so needed something fairly large to appreciate the 4k resolution.

Got this for $599 net during the March madness promo. Very pleased with the performance coming from a 5 year old 65" 4k hisense. $799 is the normal "sale" price.

$100 more for the 65" or $400 more for the 75". Not saying it's not a fair statement, just pointing out the same size comparison is 50% more expensive.

But....OP make sure you know what you are looking for. I got a great deal on a 75" TCL a few months back and am overall satisfied.....except when watching dark scenes (think space scenes on The Expanse), I get glare from the patio door window during daytime watching. Kids mostly watch that TV, so not a big deal, but if the OP is particular about the viewing experience being near perfect, I would agree, save up a little longer and don't go for the budget TVs.

75" models u6g and u7g are IPS panels. So... in my opinion no worth pay 50% more for u7g ($1200).

You obviously don't understand that there is more to different TV models then the same TV panel type...do your research first to understand why the U7G is the better choice for $400 more

It's only $400 more...for years of better colors brightness, black levels... definitely a small premium to pay

i purchased a hisense android tv back in 2020 and it was and still is the worse tv we've purchase. tv takes about 30s-1m to come on. the worse part is sometimes it wouldn't respond to the power button and would not turn off. i literally had to pull the power cord to get it to shutoff. hopefully they've gotten better.

This tv? Or TCL series-5 75" ( model 75S546)? Same price.

Got a 75" U6g a couple weeks ago. Looked good but not great I think due to the ips. Blooming was pretty bad. Didn't get quite as bright as I need for my room. Trying to replace a 1080p Vizio m702i-b3 from like 6 years ago. I'm now splurging for the 85" Qn90a on the $2250 deal.
