I can confidently say the VIOFO A119 V3 worked fine in the Atlanta heat of 101F~. June/July has been a scorcher. All the high-end should have supercapacitor that can withstand the heat. The a119v3 rated up to 149F.

thanks for the input!!! I am in Phoenix and we are 114 degrees today. car get 200++ inside.. I hope this can handle that,, Anyone try these in the desert?

I live in Phoenix AZ. It has been 105F to 110F the last week. In 4 days, the camera stopped operating. It is likely an issue with heat and the capacitors that power the the camera. The temperature in my car gets quite a bit hotter than the actual outside temperature. I am not using the camera in any way that differs from legitimate normal use. The camera should work and is operating within standard specifications. I will say that my normal A119 that this A119 mini was replacing still runs after 2 years. This may very well be a one off. Sadly, I can only rate the item I tested.

I will say the options, the camera quality and screen quality are all excellent. This is a much better unit than the standard A119 in all ways except for longevity.

How do you guys hide the power wire? Hate how it dangles down and obstructs the windshield. The manufacturer picture shows how neatly it's hidden above the lining.

I have installed five viofo dash cams. I tuck the wire under (or above?) the ceiling lining. To hold it in place so that it doesn't get loose, I put small pieces of the foam that comes in the viofo box. Viofo provides little wire clamps that use adhesive but I've never used those. There has been room in all the vehicles . I also run it under the floor/side moldings. Everything is hidden up until it reaches the outlet. It does take time and patience to make it work without seeing any wires.

In for two of the A119s, one for each car.

My wife got backed into at a stop sign last week and the insurance company of the driver that put his truck into reverse and backed into her found him not at fault. This is the 5th time she's been backed into in 3 years, but the first time the other party didn't take responsibility.

$200 now will pay for itself as long as these last 3 years.

I do what someone else recommended in terms of running the wire under the head liner, behind the puller molding, but then I use a "fuse tap" in the cabin fuse box and hard wire it in with a 12v to 5v step down converter so there is no plug showing.

I got a viofo A119 back in 2016 (around the same price) and it started to have battery issues beginning of this year. I also live in an area where it gets hot and I park outside. The dashcam lasted about 6 years and has helped me in car accident claims so I would say it's worth the investment
