I guess not - they do give you a discount on tech repair if you use geeksquad and bought somewhere else.
I wouldnt say you're wrong, they diddnt do it to lose money. In this case I think its a slickdeal as you're essentially getting it for free. No way I would pay for this normally
And its a lot better because you can remote start it with your phone and the key if you really wanted to. Right now its overpriced $489 even with totaltech, but it goes on sale often.
I would get the cellphone intergration over standard remote start since its unlimited range and you monitor/track your car with the app. There is of course a monthly/yearly yearly fee but even with that, it ended up being a really good deal.
I would pass on the key only remote start
My car never had autostart until I had one installed. The first one started going on the fritz after a few years, so I got this one to replace it 2-3 years ago and it has been wonderful.
Be prepared to pay some extra for certain things they might need to install to make it work with your vehicle.
I decided not to carry my factory fob and that meant giving up having the panic button option on this unit, because it would have cost an extra $100 for an extra module, IIRC.
HTH!
