Just FYI, TP-Link finally put out a statement on Matter integration. It seems to indicate that only future products will be designed for matter as opposed to updating these current items.

Why is this a slick deal? The few I checked have coupons for $5-8 off but they've just raised the prices by the same amounts.
I am remodeling my house and bought 20 kasa switches. Awsome deal. There are rebates on some of them if you buy with Amazon credit card also.

I'm in for a 4-pack of the ultra's. I've had a good experience with the energy monitoring mini I got in July for 3.50 +tax, hard to beat that one.

Thanks, OP

Same here but too bad they don't run a graph or chat of daily usage. If you miss midnight cutoff then you can see that days total usage

This is really disappointing. It's the best brand I've used and have many of the switches including a security camera. I hope they change their mind. Not all of their customers will rebuy from the same company that didn't update them like many other companies will.

I have one that was provided for free as part of a promo and dont use it. I have a mesh network and when the plug would lose connection, so would the power (which made no sense to me). After removing it from the network i just functions normally

With 10-20% rebate if using Amazon CC card, it is a deal. They are also on prime deals.

I'm not seeing this rebate. Details?

Can you explain a little more for me? Are you saying that when the smart switch would lose wifi connection, it couldn't act as a "dumb switch" either because it has no power?

Just wondering what are the most useful/creative ways people here are using these?

It was there 2 days ago. I bought a bunch of them on the 10th and they said get 10 to 20% rebate back if you paid with Amazon credit card. I don't see it anymore.

I don't know if these are useful enough for you, but... 1) One time my wife left the 3 100W bulbs in the attic on and we didn't go back up there for months. Won't happen again. I installed a smart switch and set it to turn off every night. Set some other lights to do the same. 2) Outdoor lights are on a schedule so they turn off every morning. 3) Can tell Alexa to turn the kitchen light off without getting out of bed. 4) We set our Christmas lights on schedules using smart plugs as well.

We have lots of other lights and lamps on schedules, but not as worth mentioning as the above. I am going to be buying more... once you get used to the ability to automatically turn things on and off and asking Alexa to do it for you, I don't think you'd look back.

it takes some setup, but if you have a micro-PC or Raspberry Pi, you can set up Grafana with plugexporter and get a graph with all the history you care to record.

My kasa switches don't work as well as others. They would sometimes not work or work on a long delay after Alexa has already given up trying. The Amazon version switches, meanwhile, always work. I guess being too smart and having more features isn't always a good thing.
Conversely, I have no less than 35 Kasa switches, bulbs, light strips, indoor plugs, and outdoor plugs. They have been rock solid for well over a year. Alexa/Echo integration has been perfect. Never had any lose connection. Couldn't be happier!

Anyone experience delay using the Kasa widget for Android phone? I'm using the widget to turn on the light. It used to take less than 2 second to turn on the light. Now it takes like 5 seconds.

I have been using Kasa plugs for at least 7 years. I have the big ass thicc ones still that can handle a full 15A. I have them set up for outdoor lights, every lamp in my house, a TV that doesn't like to fully turn it's screen off, some fans I run at night, replaced 3 switches with Kasa switches, two Kasa outdoor video cameras, and on most electronics I want to be able to fully kill when I'm away on vacation.

Not a single Kasa device has failed. They have been rock solid.

I will note they recently did a massive overhaul to the app in the last month or so. I'm finding it to be a bit less user friendly and slower. All of the automated settings still work just fine, but hoping improvements are coming to that.
