I'd reccomend you stay away from the Samsung 980 Pro or any Samsung SSD. Lookup the Samsung 980 Pro failures due to bad blocks. I literally had two 2TB 980 Pro drives die on me this past week and dealing with the warranty is a huge mess. I'd bought the, the SN850X and the SK Hynix Platinum P41 as replacement drives in my system.

Crap I used my 40% off with Amex on the Samsung 980 deal.

Anyone know if I can get that back if I buy this instead?

Nvm it let me apply it a second time and this time with $60 off instead of $40. Sweet!

For those plan to use this to upgrade laptop ssd, please be cautious with a controller error that has been reported sporadically recently on the Internet. I have recently grabbed a 2tb version to upgrade my ThinkPad t14s gen3. The drive suffers from stornvme error 11 whenever the system is in sleep and after a while the system will unexpectedly shut down. The WD engineers have been aware of this issue but have not yet released a solution.
