Pros:
Speakers
Battery Life
Portability
Gaming Performance
Build Quality
Cons:
Can run kind of warm when boost is enabled
Driver Updates from AMD have been a little limited for the GPU
No DLSS for gaming, but FSR is almost as good
ASUS has had some QA issues with this model, but the one I have has been perfect
I don't think there are too many other laptops around this price that can provide what this laptop does.

I will just be browsing, movies and playing world of warcraft.
So far this looks like a downgrade in size and GPU, however upgraded monitor to 500 nits, DDR5, CPU upgrade would be a good trade off yes or no???
They are both same price 1099, so I can choose either one at same price. Which would you go for in my use case?

I would, but only if you don't mind a smaller screen. I have the G14 6800s and had this G14 6700s. Just note that there are quality issues from the factory. I had to exchange the 6800s G14 for another one. Brand new out the box, left side screen started showing lines that would come and go. Wasn't a driver issue. And the keyboard had a lopsided left control button that was an eye sore. I paid $1500ish after tax so I expected it to be perfect out the box. The screen is really nice, the size is great, great battery life, and it's not heavy. It can handle WoW perfectly. I played call of duty modern warfare, FFXIV, and league of legends on it and had no problems. Also suggest swapping the mediatek wifi card for an Intel ax210. The 6700s version should be similar, but I noticed that my 6800s has warmer colors than the 6700s when I compared them side by side, even when playing with the settings and all that jazz. Also the 6700s speakers I had wasn't as clear as my 6800s speakers. With that said, the speakers are fantastic though.
On the other hand, I will be returning the G14 6800s because I just ordered a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with 3070ti from antonline on ebay. I wanted a bigger screen and a dark colored laptop (it's hard to keep white clean when I bring this to work).

I had an open box in excellent condition available at my best buy for -100. Total before tax is $999. I will test it out, before I return the G15 AE.
I am worried about the small screen also, but when your traveling I would think any screen is better than no screen. Haha. If this open box works I will definitely keep it.
My biggest question is if the 500 nit screen is comparable to the legion 500 nit screen. I guess we will see, I was able to snag that open box just now.

I won't be getting my legion til this Friday per FedEx tracking, so I won't be able to compare the nit screen yet, and probably won't be able to since my Best Buy return label for the G14 is due on the 22nd. If I could return in store then I would compare, but best buy cashier and manager denied me saying I was lied to by someone despite their website stating best buy ebay purchases could be returned in store 🙄🙄🙄
If you do decide to keep the G14, you can always plug it into a monitor if you want a bigger screen from time to time. Hopefully the open box unit doesn't have any issues.
Here's a recording of the 6700s vs 6800s speakers I did a week or so ago. Most likely not the best music of choice, but the difference is there. 6700s on the left and 6800s on the right. Volume and Dolby custom settings should be the same on both laptop: https://youtu.be/W0IOEPQ5jUI
I bought and had to return the Acer Predator Helios 300 because it stuck in the infinity boost loops after the windows updates. In addition, it is only 300 nits.
Hope to have better luck this time.
If I had a laptop with a dedicated gpu, then I might try out some games. Maybe I'll like it, and maybe I won't. However, my gf can use my laptop for architectural work/modeling while we travel.

The 300 nits screen on the G15 is a deal breaker for me. I won't even consider anything less than 400 nits regardless of how good the deal is.
