I have ~1.5TB of family/vaca photos & vids I'd like to back-up. Would this be a good drive to do that with? I currently back-up to a spinning disk but am concerned over time, the platter has a higher failure rate. TIA.
Back up to backblaze or to a spinning external.
Ssds aren't good for long term backups and they can start losing data after 6 months to a year of being u powered.
You want 3 copies of data. One in your pc, one in a drawer and unpowered (in case of power surge or virus or something) and a third OFF SITE backup in case of fire or theft or natural disaster.
Backblaze or a hard drive in another house will work.
