With the crazy low prices we have been seeing for NVME drives on the front page (2TB for $75!) I would suggest considering one of those in a USB enclosure, which you an get for under $20.

I just saw a really nice ROG enclosure for $53. It's a bit pricey, but it looks kind of cool, has some RGB and a clip, and with the $75 2TB, the total price would be about the same as this SanDisk drive. Here it is: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-A...B4SLK?th=1

I picked up one of the 2TB T7 shields to use on my 2017 iMac at the same price as this last week. Its been solid so far. It's pretty amazing how small/portable and lightweight the form factor has gotten on external storage over the years.
