The difference between Certified Excellent and Excellent is the Geeks clean it. It's a total crap shoot what you get as far as use but keep in mind most units are under 15 day return so any returns aren't that old.

I got excellent open box. Certified was just one more cleaning process through Geeks, but I think open box excellent is already brand new with 1 to 2 charging cycles. If there is any dissatisfaction, you can just return the unit.

I say "most" because the BB TotalTech members get 60 days, but most customers are not TotalTech so most returns are under the 15 day.
