4k IPS at this price point is usually 60 hz
i have yet to see a 4k ips >60 hz (HDMI 2.1) monitor for <$450 in recent history. Kind of a bummer but time will remedy all.

Not worth it. 4K text is hard to see on monitor this small, blow up to 200% text looks funny on most app.

So is it normal for 4k monitors not to go above 60hz?

I'm interested in upgrading my gaming monitor soon but it's a 1440p with 165hz refresh rate and I do use my xbox series x on it, so I would want something that is at least capable of 120hz.

Is that future tech that still isn't readily available yet? every time I see a 4k monitor go on sale here, it's always 60hz... are these not really intended for gaming?

Bought two of these back in April from Microcenter for the same price to replace aging Dell and Acer 32" 1080p monitors.
After adjusting to the change in pixel real estate, the monitors have been a significant improvement in clarity in daily work (emails, Excel, some SQL and API building). I scale them at 125%, and don't hear any issues from others during screen share.
Will be switching from HDMI to DP tomorrow to see if I can weed out some random flicker issues, but might be the HDMI cables I'm using.
Overall, 4k upgrade well worth the price tag.
Are all windows applications nowadays able to properly scale? 3 years ago i found lots of exceptions still and stuck with 1440p.

This is a great monitor for work -- it is not meant for gaming. I scale to 125% and have no problems reading text.

Of course there are 4K monitors that can do higher refresh rates (more than 60 Hz) but they will be at a much higher price. SDers aren't ready for that yet.

Matte panel, going from reviews - FYI.

Does anybody here have experience with 4k @ 27" on Windows or Linux? How is the scaling - do you operate at 100% (1:1) or have a boost on? If a scaling boost, how well do most apps scale?

I keep my scaling at 100% on my 28" 4K.
