Fair price. Replaced my 48 C1, with 42" C2 after trying for 1 year to like the 48, and I have a very deep and wide desk.

As a single monitor, it's a great size. However, I still require an IPS normal size for editing and intensive text work. 48" doesn't allow for any comfortable additional monitors.

However, a major pro of 42 v 48 is sheer pixel density and it makes world of difference.

Hope this helps anyone deciding
Blows my mind that LG hasn't released an Ultragear version of the 42 C2. It would be pretty much be chief if they did. Could finally stop using Color Control and LG Companion for sleep/wake in Win11.

LG companion app is impressive. It works flawlessly all-the-time. I almost didn't get 42" because only learned about the app after I replaced my C1.

Thankfully, I was still could return the original monitor I replaced for C1, and bought C2, installed companion app and relieved.

What is the color control app?

Asus makes one, but from what I've seen is all the oleds have pixel layout wrong for monitor usage and makes text slightly blurry

Finally broke down and got a real monitor. Running a 4070TI on a 1080p monitor is criminal I guess Smilie Thanks for sharing the deal. Will be here tomorrow, can't wait.

So, quick question. I am currently using a 48 C2 and have it hooked into my 3080 via HDMI. The screen has been great, but should I be looking into this as a replacement? Does it have any features that are missing on the standard TV? Thanks!

That is true about current gen OLED and text, but using Cleartype helps a bunch. The Asus 42" OLED model has a bunch of firmware issues and the subreddits are not kind in their reviews.

About the only feature is you would get freesync premium over displayport, since that 3080 will not freesync over hdmi. Its also nvidia certified for freesync, so you wont end up with any issues like strobing etc.

I dont think its worth the upgrade unless you really need that lower lag from freesync. The freesync premium is icing on the cake since it allows you to go down to 30fps without tearing. Kinda nice for 4k.

Main thing would probably be Display Port and one review said the speakers on these are better than the C2. Other than that it seems like you might be downgrading with with color temp not able to get adjusted in HDR which might be a bother to some.

I've seen at my local Best Buy an open box 55" LG C2 for around $900 so I'm probably going to choose that since I'd be switching between PC and Console. Loss of DisplayPort won't be a bother to me.

Here is a Reddit link to someone's detailed review between the two just a couple months ago.

Dammed if you do, dammed if you dont.

Get a LG RGBW panel and you will have a bit of a text issue. Get a samsung RGB panel and text will be perfect, but screen burn in is an issue for constant gui's. LG's starting with the C2 generation have almost zero burn in after 1000's of hours thanks to the formula change, the W so the RGB can be dimmer, and its screen leveling function that happens every 4 hours, and 500 hours, and 1500 hours.

I didn't see built in KVM functionality, presumably because this is more gaming oriented. I'm looking for a single monitor to replace my 3 wide 22" monitors. Next to no gaming on it, so more "productivity" or business oriented. Gaming specs are nice but I don't want to pay more for a much better refresh rate or other similar specs. I'd be doing mostly spreadsheets, email, basic video editing, and watching videos occasionally. What I'm most interested in is a monitor that I can use as 1 massive screen or subdivide into 2 or 4 screens at a time depending on application(s) and preferably one that can switch between my personal desktop and work laptop seamlessly. Any recommendations? Powered USB-C so I only need 1 connection to the work laptop would be nice.

Matte finish, if you have light behind you sometime the glare on glossy display can cause eye strain and head aches. Wish this was available in a 40 or 42".

There is a used one 672 in acceptable condition... Given Amazon's return policy, might be worth to risk it.
