question- WiFi Extender with Ethernet Port- if I run a cat6 poe cable to the ethernet port- is it receiving the internet signal via that port- or is it only capable of repeating the weak air signal? thanks

I expect you'd still need to power it from AC (re: PoE specifically), but the listing says the following:

The Ethernet port of RE220 can easily turn your wired Internet connection into a wireless access point.

Do these things work? My router is in the basement. I get great speed on the first floor, but not the second floor. Do I just plug this in upstairs?

I have this and use it often. It's perfect for creating a wifi hub in our backyard. I do recommend especially for the price. Also super easy to connect to home network.

I think this is a good deal. I recently got it for $15. I have it connected to a live ethernet port in the basement where my router doesn't reach to create a wireless access point down there. Note, the port is limited to 100mbps, it's not a gigabit port. Running a speed test sitting 6ft from the unit resulted in ~94mbps on the 5ghz band, which for me isn't much slower than my Internet is anyway so the 100mbps port isn't a big deal for now until I upgrade my Internet.

This is very helpful to provide wifi to static devices in that area (like a TV, game console, smart switches). It's not as convenient for devices that move with you around the house (like your phone). These moving devices may stay connected to this access point after you've left the area instead of automatically connecting back to your router for example. So you'll be sitting up at the dining room table waiting for videos to load when it's really just still connected to the basement access point so you're too far away to get real bandwidth but not far enough for your derpy phone to connect back to your router.... You get the idea.

Of course, the solution is a mesh system. The mesh system uses your existing wifi name and password and the system bounces your device to an appropriate access point automatically. It looks like this device supports TP-Link's OneMesh system, but I don't have a TP-Link router so I couldn't test this.

Can someone educate me on this? I have one next to my TV, and though it shows a strong signal, it is worthless for streaming on the TV. It is like it doesn't "do" download.
My modem and router is upstairs. On my laptop down by my TV, I am getting 21 down from the router, and with the extender next to me, I am getting 18 down.
It is pitiful. I don't want to run a 100' ehternet cable outside, down the house, in the window kind of stuff.
At my desktop, hardwired, I am getting 500 down on my 1 G contract.
Thanks!
