I bought AXE5400 3 pack during black Friday. Man, i can't believe how fast and efficient it is. I am getting about 800+ Mbps on average all around the house. I also have 70 devices connected to the network at all times.

Only complaint is the Deco app they provided only provided half the functions. The additional features (parent control, additional security, etc.) cost extra.

i bought these x55 three packs a month ago and they work great in our home. now there is wifi signal in the driveway and garage and i even installed the wired backhaul option for great speeds and less congestion on the wifi interference. The backhaul didn't go super great, but is not bad either. For us, this was a no-brainer since our ASUS routers stopped working. Its about half the price of Wifi 6E (6 ghz extended band) and about 4x cheaper than a wifi 7 set with only 2 base stations. We don't need the extra speed and are happy to have coverage wherever we are on our property now

Guys, I need to buy this to replace my aging Google mash. I'd rather buy from costco. My internet speed is 0.5 gig and I have about 50 devices connected at all times. I am looking for the best coverage, I have some outdoor devices (ring cameras, pool controller, rachio).

Which option is best for me: https://www.costco.com/CatalogSea...rd=tp-link

Basically same question. We're on Starlink so not super speeds. Have some deadspots outside so wanted to try this. Leaning heavily toward the X60 from costco because I doubt I'll be using whatever bells and whistles the AXE5300 offers, but always interested in other opinions.

That's what I am thinking. But there is one option with 3 indoor and 1 outdoor node since I have few outdoor Wi-Fi devices. Not sure if it's worth $100 extra.

Dumb question as I am new to this. Does AXE5400 mesh system works with my existing router or it replaces my existing router which is downstairs and additional unit stays upstairs? Thanks

Edit: I have netgear modem plus router in one device

You can add more mesh units to the main unit. I have 1 of them connected by hard wire but 1 also connected by wifi. They use a delicate channel for the mesh units.
I am thinking of adding at least 1 via wired backhaul but I am thinking of the expense, it seems like over $100 for wires, clamps, jacks, etc..so instead of that I would just buy 1 more satellite if these are mesh extension through satellites too. So you are saying I can add 1 more satellite further away and it will be able to connect to the 1st satellite to broadcast?
The main router is broadcasting too right? So basically we get 3 units with the set?

Thanks, I think I will pick up one from Costco instead of Amazon if they have it in store, and will get the additional one from Amazon.

so for non geeks, you can think of these like extenders. they are no different from an extender to you. If you want your wifi to be ultra fast, wiring them together would be the best bet.

You do not have to wire all your units back to the "main" unit. you can do a-b-c just fine.

If you really don't care about how fast and reliable (they are ok. i wouldn't say it's unreliable but it is more unreliable than hardwiring) your connection is to those which are not hard wired, just buy a bunch of these and let them do the work and don't bother with wiring them up.

Basic question: When would I need a Mesh, and when would I need a Range Extender?

I currently get excellent Wi-Fi in most areas of my house, but I have a couple of areas that are weak.
you can see mesh as better tuned extender if you don't care about tech details.

not sure if you've experienced bad internet with your current setup but usually when one small cheaper device act as both wi-fi and router, it doesn't yell but the workload is usually too heavy for it. so a better practice is to buy a more expensive router and let it do the router part. your netgear device just acts as a pass through (bridge mode).

If the above seems too much work and you want a unified wi-fi that you do not have to switch back and forth, simply wire your netgear router to axe5400 and use the wi-fi provided by axe5400. ignore netgear completely

Costco price went down by $10 to $169

this is same thing as AX3000 one OP listed, right?
https://www.costco.com/tp-link-de...31942.html

It says X60, though vs X55 on amazon. Coverage is also a bit more for some reason.

Yes, thanks, so by hard wiring you mean wiring them all back to the main router, or can you wire them to each other as well, if that's the case I think I can do that (at least for 2 of them) but 3rd one will go upstairs, no wiring there.

So just to be sure, I can do Main Router ---Wired--Extender 50ft away---another extender not wired--100ft away, and--- not wired-- another extender 150ft away and they all will work fine? I am sorry because I got burnt once with Netgear mesh, I want to make sure they can be each further and further away, and they all don't have to be within coverage area of the main router, right? My ISP put my modem in furthest room so I have to kinda "chain" these one to another (some without wires)

I see the 3 pack on sale for 319.99 vs 349 at Costco (I just bought a 3 pack there last week, not sure if they are lower there now or not...)
3 pack [url]https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B88T5RDY?th=1

edit - not the PRO - so has 1Gb ports vs one 2.5Gb port

...AND now Costco has them for 279, so still better than Amazon
Costco also has the X55 (listed as X60) for $10 less, but it depends, not everyone has Costco membership.

However, can someone please make suggestion for outdoor one? The one on Amazon is pretty high $129 for just one unit, are there cheaper ones we can get?
