Ordered a 10cu ft a few weeks ago, was left upside down in my driveway, box heavily damaged. The front had 3 big dents in it, but it seemed ok otherwise. I let is sit upright for 48 hours, plugged it in, and it never started cooling down. DOA.

Kind of a pain to return, and it takes 2-3 weeks to get your money back. Just prepare for the return and dont snip the packing straps, slide them off the sides, it'll make it a LOT easier to pack back up.

Don't do it, guys. It's going to come damaged, and you'll have great fun trying to return it.

I bought it the last deal- first came damaged. Walmart eventually agreed to send a replacement. Getting it shipped back was ridiculously hard. Walmart sends you Fedex ground label (manager confirmed they have no knowledge of how to send Fedex freight label), but these have to be shipped via Fedex Freight. I was instructed by Fedex to call freight on my own to schedule, freight eventually took it out of courtesy. The replacement came in even worse shape. After telling Walmart about the chaos for the first return, they offered to send a Walmart in-home pickup. It never happened. They continue to promise their employees will come. A month later, I was still stuck with a broken freezer. Called them again, got to supposedly 2 layers up. They promised they will have it fixed by sending their crew over. I then got an email with a fedex "ground" label sent to me somehow. Called back after no one showed up during the supposedly Walmart employee pickup window, again. I was told nothing was ever set up, and it was 1 day before the return window closed. They suggest I haul it back myself the same day before it was too late. At this time, it has been over 10 hours of calling them just to have it returned. I was fed up and called my CC for a chargeback. I'm now still stuck with this broken freezer as my CC told me to hold onto it until they finished their investigation in 2 months.

DON'T DO IT! You don't want to be in the same mess.

Would be great if this didn't ship FedEx.

A $10 microcontroller project to automate it and hours of your life. Or hours of your life and no microcontroller.

Why do we expect a single delivery person to handle delivering this huge box by themselves?

Some delivery people get paid flat rate per item delivered - whether it is 100lb box or a small envelope.

I don't know if they have a dolly and ramps to use, but this is the reason I'm not ordering it.
From the fridge I bought, by itself it's not that bad to put and pull as 1 person. Although the box was wide and fairly tall. I used a $25 foldable aluminum hand cart to drag it from the sidewalk to garage. Delivery of heavier items I get is difficult but it seems FedEx especially does minimal effort in deliveries. They always left packages regardless of size, usually half way up or bottom on my front stairs. And have left heavier items like a desk pretty much on the sidewalk, end of street driveway. Never had ups do that

hasn't everyone been complaining about receiving damaged units from Walmart for these?
I got an Arctic King 5.0cf freezer from Wal-Mart off a deal I saw here a few months or so ago. It came in damaged with a dent on the top and the side. I contacted WM and they gave me an extra $30 off so I was happy enough with that. It's a freezer not a Ferrari.

The freezer works perfect though and we've been very happy with the extra space.

It's more complicated than that since you need a pan so defrosted water leaks into and then gets evaporated by compressor and cooling system would need to be designed differently as well but yes it does take away more time for manual.

Hmm…Frigidaire… i have had dehumidifiers and 7.5 sizes refrigerators of this brand and all died right after a year. I would not buy Frigidaire any more.

The 7.0 cu ft chest freezer is definitely garage ready. I just received it a couple days ago and it says it on the sticker located on freezer itself.

The freezer did come with 3 dents and a corner was damaged as well but otherwise worked. I just asked for a discount via email and got about $30 off.
From the reviews I've seen, it's hit-or-miss. Seems like they ship the wrong product out because it looks similar.

I also got the Arctic King 5.0cf freezer, and there was only a very minor ding on it. For a garage freezer, it was plenty good enough.

No cosmetic issues with the 7 cu ft chest freezer, arrived undamaged. Just letting it air out for a couple of days before plugging it in.

Got the 7 cu ft chest freezer today. A few dents on it. Considering asking Walmart for a discount if it works.
