Ordered a 10cu ft a few weeks ago, was left upside down in my driveway, box heavily damaged. The front had 3 big dents in it, but it seemed ok otherwise. I let is sit upright for 48 hours, plugged it in, and it never started cooling down. DOA.

Kind of a pain to return, and it takes 2-3 weeks to get your money back. Just prepare for the return and dont snip the packing straps, slide them off the sides, it'll make it a LOT easier to pack back up.

Don't do it, guys. It's going to come damaged, and you'll have great fun trying to return it.

I bought it the last deal- first came damaged. Walmart eventually agreed to send a replacement. Getting it shipped back was ridiculously hard. Walmart sends you Fedex ground label (manager confirmed they have no knowledge of how to send Fedex freight label), but these have to be shipped via Fedex Freight. I was instructed by Fedex to call freight on my own to schedule, freight eventually took it out of courtesy. The replacement came in even worse shape. After telling Walmart about the chaos for the first return, they offered to send a Walmart in-home pickup. It never happened. They continue to promise their employees will come. A month later, I was still stuck with a broken freezer. Called them again, got to supposedly 2 layers up. They promised they will have it fixed by sending their crew over. I then got an email with a fedex "ground" label sent to me somehow. Called back after no one showed up during the supposedly Walmart employee pickup window, again. I was told nothing was ever set up, and it was 1 day before the return window closed. They suggest I haul it back myself the same day before it was too late. At this time, it has been over 10 hours of calling them just to have it returned. I was fed up and called my CC for a chargeback. I'm now still stuck with this broken freezer as my CC told me to hold onto it until they finished their investigation in 2 months.

DON'T DO IT! You don't want to be in the same mess.

Unless your garage stays below 32 degrees often or long periods of time then 'garage ready' is not necessary…but if you don't feel good about non garage ready then buy a retrofit $12 kit to make GR from Amazon

Yes. The manual states: Garage ready Model maintains Stable and consistent Temperature Under Extreme Temperatures from 0°F to 110°F.

This is for the chest freezer with models EFRF5003-B-6COM and EFRF7003-B-6COM.

I got the 7.0 cf chest freezer several months ago. No damage to my box or freezer. Works well, pretty impressed with it.

I also had terrible experience with Walmart and FedEx. Bought it last time it was on sale, bought a 7 cu ft and got a 5 cu ft. package, came damaged and dented. Walmart CS sent a replacement and sent a return label for Fedex ground. They booked a pickup time with USPS. I had to take it to a FedEx/Kinkos store. The 7 cu ft also came damaged. Same return situation except they didn't schedule the pickup. Never again man

I saw all the bad reviews and decided to risk it cause other garage ready equivalents are more than double the price. It came with 3 very minor dents that are barely noticeable. Since it's out in my garage I don't really care. Works great so far, worth it

You couldn't pay me to get that refrigerator,..it comes with wet floors and no ice. Was able to get samsung to at least reimburse half of it in 2022, originally bought in 2016. Replaced with a bespoke that has ice in the freezer where it makes sense.

The upright has the cooling pipes running through the shelves themselves, which means you can never move or remove a shelf to fit something big. You're stuck with the the spacing.

Got the upright freezer last week. Had minor dent on back corner, otherwise in great condition. It was delivered and left on my porch upright. I let it sit upright in my house for 3 hours before plugging it in. It has worked just fine for a week. And yes the shelves are not removable but I'm not trying to fit in large quantities of meat so it works perfect for frozen stuff that I buy from Sam's club.
