The M2 Air would still be more capable/faster (with better battery life and lower temps) but if you need a Windows machine, you can't go wrong with a ThinkPad most times.

Honestly download power bi and tableau and have bing and bard teach you how to use python. You could be coding tomorrow if you wanted. Have bingGPT give you a lesson plan and do sessions daily. Targeted focused practice is the best way to become a master. Have GPT evaluate your code and viz then give you feedback on what you wrote. You can accelerate your learning using GPT.
If you decide you need a new computer, get a refurbished one from apple. That's where we buy all ours. Mac mini M2 16gb will be more than enough. Keep your mba if you want portability once you have a mini.
