For the folks wondering how much bigger this will look compared to their 49" (like me), this could help:

https://www.displaywars.com/57-in...%7B32x9%7D

I was talking with a friend about it earlier and explaining that it's not just 8" wider (or 16%)... the extra space is quite a bit more. This equates to nearly 35% more space with that small increase in inches.

I hope not, not practical for work. Text is horrible. I use the NEO for both, work and play. That's why I think the NEO Is superior to OLED model. The NEO LED technology has gotten very good!

I pulled the trigger. I am hoping my 3090ti can gimp along for some 60/120 gaming until the 5xxx series comes out. I do 3 monitor set up for stock market and this will eliminate all that headache. I also was lucky enough to qualify for the $500 discount and have my sons friend buying the free monitor that is included for $500. Price comes down to $1.5k.

Good find I have a lot more faith in Amazon than Samsung Direct.

Thanks
For sure. Have heard way too many horror stories about ordering from Samsung direct.

Amazon is always amazing when something goes. Or at least they always have been for me.

But this isn't 4K, this is double 4K: 7680x2160

Good luck getting even an RTX 4090 to push that at 240Hz
It's called future proofing!

Ordered from Amazon.

Way easier to deal with in case it shows up broken and they are also offering a $500 credit.

Wife getting the current G9.
One big difference is the price.
From Amazon, it's 2500 + credit
From Samsung, it's 2000 + credit

Too big. No one need a Lexington Steele sized PC monitor.

That's not what I'm seeing. Price on Samsung is 2500. And I don't really have a use for Samsung credit

YMMV - I had no issues with phone trade-ins or the delivery.

I had a horrendous experience with my Tab S8 Plus order. Their customer service really does suck.

The big problem with this is the 15 Day return policy. There are no reviews on this monitor from any source that I trust. There are plenty of UNBOXING videos, but there is no real testing. So your spending $2000+ with the hope There are no major issues. 15 days is not much time to unbox, setup and test all by yourself.

I'm still tempted, though, as I have the 32" Odyssey Neo and it is outstanding 👌.
Yeah, my CRG9, QN95A and sound bar have all been great. So ignorance is bliss I guess.

Having now dealt with the warranty replacement service I'll never use Samsung again.

You can pick it up from Best Buy when it launches on October 2nd. If you want to swap it out, it's an entire ordeal. I went through something similar with my 65" QN90B earlier in the year. It had horrible DSE, and I wanted to return/exchange for the same model at Best Buy. No go. I had to return it, go home, and place a second order through Samsung.com. The order was available for pickup the next day. Luckily Samsung still had the sales event promo going on or I'd be SOL. If you get a great panel during your first order, you'll be golden.
I heard of someone placing an order for multiple of the same item and returning any of the ones that needed returned and keeping the best of the bunch. I thought about doing that for the 85" Q90A when that deal was going on but the EDU discount only applies to max 2 items.

With this item, I'm not sure if you would get multiple $500 credits by pre-ordering multiple monitors for pickup. But, it would make it a lot less stressful if any of them needed to be returned.

That's a valid point. When I bought the QN90B 85" Samsung had to ship it because my local Best Buy didn't have any in stock. A few months prior, I bought the S95B 65" and I was able to pick it up at my local Best Buy so it's definitely YMMV depending on stock. I went ahead and order my G9 so I'm hoping I don't have any issues with it.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to use this primarily for work with static images from similar web pages and Excel Spreadsheets. I wouldn't want an OLED monitor where I'm constantly thinking about burn in and image retention.

Apparently this monitor has been released in other parts of the world. People were having issues reaching either 240hz (nVidia) or full resolution (Mac users). Someone did something interesting (Google Reddit) and used 2 inputs as PIP. Since each input is recognized as a 4k monitor, it solved their problems. Just remember to turn off something called "borders for PIP" or something, then it's a smooth one screen experience.
