Like all Samsung monitors - expect a HUGE drop in price early next year. This will be many hundreds less in 3 or 4 months.

I mean, last year's 49" Odyssey is still way more expensive than the G9 was one year after launch. I honestly would not count on a huge drop in price.

I got my G9 (not the CRG9 which is 1st Gen and only 120Hz, I got the 240 Hz) for $1K a year after launch. Meanwhile the Neo Odyssey is still around $1200-$1500 two years after launch and last year's model just it's lowest price so far at $1500. So no. There is not a huge drop in price as you claim.

This one will likely go on sale throughout the course of three next 12 months for $2K at best. Seems the latest trend for them is to only offer $500 off on sale all the time.

Only 5120x2160. I've got a 40" with this resolution and no font increase necessary. Just a waste of screen size and disappointing they couldn't do better.

No its actually 7680x2160 resolution. But the typical brightness of 420 is a joke. How they claim HDR1000 with such low brightness makes me wonder if they think we are all uneducated and don't know anything better. Typical manufacturer jargon. Not even G-Sync compatible at that price is sad also. I'll wait for better in the future at a lower price.

You clearly don't understand what typical brightness is. 420 nits is in SDR content. HDR content provides up to ~1300nits peak at specific window sizes(i.e. 10% of the screen being white) with full screen white at ~750 nits.

Please learn how monitors/TVs work before just seeing a number and complaining about it.

Last holiday season the g9s were selling for $700. I suspect another big sale event this holiday season given the slow down in PC tech sales.

Also what cable/card supports 7680x2160 @ 240hz?

Nothing supports it at this point. I'm going to eventually get it and run it with a 4090 but even if it supported Display Port 2.1 (which it doesnt) I doubt it would run many games at that resolution at 240hz. If I can get 120hz on HDMI 2.1 on my 4090 on it I'll be happy.

You probably know better than me, I haven't kept up with it honestly. If a 4090 can't drive it at 240hz what can? I realize it's somewhat pointless but I would be annoyed if I couldn't run it at it's native/max refresh rate
