I guess my point is I wouldn't sink 3G or 5G into a TCL or Hisense product (but feel free to school me on how they have changed)
Seems like a mighty small VESA for such a large TV.
Sad part is this isn't that much heavier than the 62" plasma I bought like 10 years ago
Don't do this yourself. We just mounted the 98-in TCL at weighs like 130 lbs. We got a nice beefy Sanus mount and it's probably one of the few times I paid Best buy to mount since the TV was expensive, bulky and heavy.
or make sure whoever comes has two people with them
It might depend where you use the TV as well. It's also a lot more expensive.
For instance, I got the 98R754 for $3500 + 4yr warranty for about 4k total + cost of a good mount and install since tv is massive.
In my theater room the r754 looks incredible and I also don't need something that puts out 2000 nits since it's light controlled and I would sear my eyes in the dark.
This one would be amazing in a living room but at the same time it will also cost you about $1,500 + tax + warranty so all in you're probably pushing 2k more

Yeah I guess I'm making the assumption that someone who would spend $3k on a TV could easily make the leap to $5k like it's nothing.
The person who won't spend $2k on TV, yeah you're not getting that guy up to $5k unless it's just a killer game changing product with a killer demo.

TCL is ranked about top two TV brands in the world in terms of market share.
Just like every brand they have a low medium, high and super high-end line. You can typically get all their lines at any of the major box stores like Amazon, Walmart, or Best buy. They have made incredible strides over the last 6 to 7 years in pumping out some really great TV sets. The great thing is it has caused some of the other brands to drop their prices as well to stay competitive.
Just like anything, I would get a warranty on their higher end sets similar to what I would do with a Sony or a Samsung. In fact, my higher end Sony has had a few bugs versus my 3 TCL's.

I mean a 2k difference is still considerable especially since you could spend that money on extra gear. You could get a pretty banging surround sound setup with that difference.
Either way, it's good to see that these 98 and 100-in TV sets are becoming the new norm. It also is great to see them undercut some of the other major brands that are charging double.
For instance, b the installer did a comparison of the 98r754 to the 98-in Sony 90L. They kept up in most aspects and was literally more than half the price

In September it dropped to around $3470 and $3499 a few days for short periods of time before going out of stock on Amazon. This included deluxe unpacking as well for an added bonus.
Was able to get it at the lowest price it was.
maybe you could set up a camel camel camel alert on price drops

Is just over 6 feet long and 3 1/2 high - not in the box. In the box it's got to be almost 7 feet long and 4 feet + high, it also weighs 25+ pounds more (about 135) in the box. There are wall mounts for 100" TVs on Amazon - I ended up having to get one as the space over my fireplace has 16" studs with one right in the middle of the fireplace (meaning to center mount the TV I needed a mount with a backing plate at least 34" wide). The TV should mount just like all the others (assuming you can get it in your house), make sure the mount you get is rated for the weight.
