Picked this one up last time it was posted - excellent machine for my use case as someone constantly traveling. This thing handles all AAA title games with ease - just be prepared for the normal heating and dissipation noise from the fans. Upgraded the RAM and installed a fresh copy of windows to remove all bloat, then ran everything through GHelper instead of crate.

If you're on the fence about this vs the 4080 variant like I was pull the trigger now, run it through its paces and evaluate if you need more performance. Just be aware the upgraded versions do level off rapidly depending on thermal throttling.

Happy Friday and thanks OP
I'm pretty sure these are members that want the hdmi 5.0, tb 7, 10 drive bays, 4000nit screen and of course 2tb of memory

Oh hell. I grabbed the Legion 5 Slim 16 but found it to large to be comfortable for actual laptop use. Here we go G14! I had the 6700s version but gave it to my kid, will be neat to be back on one.

I have a Legion 5, but I travel a lot and I've been eyeing this to have smaller weight whenever I travel, this form factor looks amazing and I don't care about battery life.

But I would like to future-proof it with a better graphics card, but yeah at some point you get diminishing returns. Right now I have a RTX3070, so I would like to have a much better performance to be worth the leap.

Would the price be lower when black friday? And also considering the 4080 version..

Ive heard a lot of issues about certain G14 models over the past few years, so ill wait until this is available as open box from best buy for like $600-700 before I consider.

I tested this out at best buy and LOVE the weight and size. Its pretty perfect for a portable gaming laptop. Its not as thin and light as some of the newest thin and lights, but if you were happy with a thin and light from like 4-5 years ago youll be happy with this.

I used a Thinkpad T480s for a while, and this feels very similar.

If I needed ONE device for everything this might be it.

if you can afford the 4060 over the 6700s, go for it. I had the 6700s and upgraded... thermals are night/day and i'm getting double the FPS.

6700s is ok if you're on a tight budget but the 4060 is next level.

The review for this exact model by Hardware Canucks. Great laptop for the price. The display uses mini LED technology and RTX 4060 has a TDP of 120W in Turbo mode. That's rare.

Edit: There's also an older model on clearance. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6494633

Just pulled the trigger on a similar spec'd XPS 15 (32gb ram, 1tb ssd, but only a FHD+ screen) for work for $1850. Kinda wish I'd gotten this instead, but they kind of rope us into the Dell eco-system at work. This is an amazing deal for a light well built gaming laptop that doesn't scream gaming laptop at you.

Great deal, I've got an older model and am very happy with it but it's struggling with new AAA titles so looking to upgrade. I think I'm going to wait and see what happens with the price on the 1TB model since 512gb is too low for me

Have the older model with the 2060. Absolutely love it. Looking to upgrade but 512GB is so low for a gaming laptop. That's maybe 3 AAA games + various other applications you use + Windows install.
