Ended up buying this TV after some research. Major known short comings of this TV seem to be (1) overall brightness and (2) a 60Hz panel. If you're a gamer know that this doesn't have HDMI 2.1, doesn't support high refresh rates, and doesn't support VRR. I watch movies more than I play my PS5, so OLEDs superior contrast ratio and black levels were more important to me personally than the lack of gaming features you can find on inexpensive LCD's in this price range (e.g. Hisense/TCL/Vizio).
Right. Any screen smaller than 80" is subpar and absurd to watch anything.
BTW, how is watching those YouTube videos on your 7" phone going?
Open-Box from $336.99 if you're lucky to have one around

Quote from Hat-Trick :
What's the main difference between mini-QLED and OLED? I've read OLED is sort of yesterday's high end and QLED is better and fixes OLED issues.
MiniLED-QLED is just improving on QLED inefficiencies like local dimming (now individual miniLED on/off which is close to OLED but afaik but can't match OLED because it inherently still larger pixels but completely improves upon QLED alone. Great color and better than OLED for any bright areas like sunrooms. Honestly it isn't bad but the color saturation, blacks, vividness, which contribute to overall picture quality is not as good as OLED in normal rooms which is why the prices of these OLEDs continue to demand your financial future.

OLED issues - burn ins or overheating which degrades the OLED on parts of the panel (this should be fixed in 2020 TVs and after. Burn ins can happen if you leave it on a channel with areas that stay the same like news/weather/etc but aren't as common.

Downside with OLED that people don't like to talk about are the overwhelming blacks, due to software sometimes the details in the blacks are lost with poor tuning to get truly deep blacks. For example in a night driving scene with QLED you'll see the pattern on someones jacket easily, with OLED it will be difficult and so the 'details/textures/fine lines' in OLED's can sometimes be lost. In general though OLED's saturation and color richness gives the picture a much bigger wow and pop factor over QLEDS/mini-QLEDs.

Overall due to the price difference of QLEDs when on sale it comes down to what you value most, 120hz OLEDs cost up to 3x or more even on sale. But no OLED's are inherently superior and any LED backlit technology is just trying to reproduce the similar color quality/darkness but will equally inherently lose in any picture contest not in a sunroom or showroom.

Open box-excellent nearby for $516. I'm guessing I should just get new for less than 10% off.

with oled tech and best buy's "open box" lottery - and that price difference, i'd go new.

open box prices did slightly drop overnight. still on the fence about but will likely pull trigger at some point

As far as I can tell, this is the cheapest new (not refurbished, not open box) OLED TV ever posted to SlickDeals. I'm in for 1.

In for 1. I'm ignorant when it comes to tvs but this seems worth the extra $$ over TCL/FireTV/Insignia.

Ehh maybe not for 4x the price

If you're asking in terms of value Roku… if you're talking about quality you must be joking

Depends on the use case, in a really bright room, A series OLED are really quite dim and you would be better off getting a 1000+ nits R646 or better the latest QM8 with 2000 nits.
