That's slick right there. Cheapest was $350 so $60 for some good RAM. It's not 6000 CL30 but X3D chips doesn't care for that.

The whole budget goes up in flames for AM5 when doing an ITX build lol

I know, I am looking at ~300$ for MB alone. Trying to stay under $800 for MB + cpu + ram, 64gb(2×32) preferably, because itx has only 2 slots. Still have few weeks till holiday season. Hopefully, something will come up.
BTW this cpu is 349 at Microcenter. I know not everyone has o e nearby, but if you do, this combo is about on par with MC prices, few bucks cheaper, but nothing mouthwatering...

Yes that type of build will go hard for the next 4-5 years easy.

at 1440p its minimal FPS difference. 1080p is where the 7800X3D shines but that GPU more for 1440p

This should be emphasised. 3d chips are barely affected by the ram speed. Arguably better to get cheap ram and 3d chip for better frames and 1% lows

Is that real? Got any links? That would save a decent chunk of change and make this a very hot deal versus the ~$70-100 I was debating spending.

I've been strongly considering buying either an rtx 4080/4090 laptop, or else building a 7800x3d rig. I'd been looking almost exclusively at 32GB 10ns 30 cas kits. Also been feeling a little fomo for not jumping ASAP on the $350 7800x3d deals last month. If the added CPU cache minimizes stalls when calling back to main memory, I might jump on this deal.

EDIT: I did a bit of digging and the early returns suggest that the quoted post above is FALSE.

I'll continue digging through forums/Reddit/reviews/etc, but the the usual gains/caveats with AMD/ram appear to be intact. Remember the 800 lbs gorilla that is Intel. AMD et al have much smaller validation/compatibility testing. YMMV. Cliff notes version:

- your #1 goal should be to get 6000 mHz ram (or faster). Just like the old Pentium 4 era and most cpus since, memory throughput is top priority over lower latency. This deal nails that so if you want frugal and easy, this combo is great.

- don't rely on EXPO. It can be great when it works, but better performance AND stability are often achieved via manual timings.

- On a game-by-game basis, lower latency/cas can be highly beneficial. I'll repeat that. Some programs/games will not care that you paid for top dollar ram. Others, including some games, will show significant gains (particularly 1-5% lows). Aim for cas 30 or 32; avoid slower timings unless you are saving a huge chunk of $ in exchange for slower timings.

- buy only 2 sticks of ram, preferably single-sided ram for better stability (especially true if running 4 sticks). This one is the most dubious suggestion so far, but historically is true for all PCs including Intel systems.

- do your own research, run stability/stress tests soon after building your system, and don't be afraid to swap for a different ram kit. AMD has a long history of being more fickle about ram.

Main thing above is that this deal is very slick since the ram combo hits 6000 mHz. Solid bang-for-the-buck with big gains for low cash outlay. In my case, I'd get significantly less bang-for-the-buck splurging for 10ns cas 30-32 ram.

Just bought an ITX case to build my first SFFPC and was eying the 7800X3D or the 7900X3D. Looks like my decision has been made! Now I just need to find a slick deal on a Strix B650E-I mobo. Thanks OP!!!
