I bought mine during Black Friday, and it exhibits a strange stuttering behavior when using the discrete GPU (gaming, browsing, video playback). Not sure what causes it, but restarting fixes the problem temporarily. Considering returning it.. It seems like other people have experienced this behavior too. https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog...d-p/969971
This back on sale....good price. Bought mine BF for this price.
As recommended above, download G-Helper in lieu of the stock Asus software.

Would a 14 inch screen be too small for gaming? I'm currently using a 16 inch laptop but in some FPS games, I get sniped from a mile away because the enemy is just a tiny speck on my screen and I couldn't see him, whereas I could've seen him if I had a larger screen.

Also, is the 512 GB SSD enough for gaming? Many games these days are 100 GB in size and it seems 512 GB wouldn't be enough to hold a regular amount of games.

I thought would be enough but, almost out of the box I already had less than 400 gb available. After installing some apps even less.
So you must upgrade the storage. I got 2TB 990 pro since 4TB was out of stock when I was looking.
Also, since you'll be already opening up the laptop, I'd recommend to add RAM to make total of 48GB. RAM is cheap...

14 inch is perfect for gaming when you travel.

Really? Never heard of bestbuy not accepting returns in store.

Last year I ordered the g14 6800s model from eBay Best Buy. Tried to return it in store and they said I have to ship it back for returns. That was my experience at the local Best Buy.

I bought this laptop on BF and got my price adjustment. If you can get this laptop on sale, definitely worth it. Just upgrade the SSD and RAM and your set. I have this hooked up to an external monitor via USBC and it's pushing out 5160x1440p at 120hz on my 49" screen.

Also advise getting a laptop cooler but that's for all gaming laptops.

I bought a ASUS - ROG Zephyrus dual screen in 2021 for about 3k. Motherboard failed on it 2 years later and ASUS wants $1800 to fix it. They do not stand by their products and they do not last. Please read the reviews and Reddit posts. There are hundreds of people just like me that have been screwed.

It's unfortunate but a small sample. I've used asus laptops in the past and have had no issues.

Guys the 6700s version from last Gen seemed to run cool and quiet for everyday tasks. 10hr battery life. It was also as low as $1000, so $100 less.

How is this latest gen with 4060? Hear mixed messages. Some day it runs hot... Is battery life just as good? How about fan noise? Reliability?

I have both & the 4060 model runs cooler/quieter for the most part. Get the latest gen if you can… I do recommend saving to upgrade the internal drive tho

Anybody have experience with Best Buy's opened boxes for laptops? Found one of these in good condition near me but not sure if I should just get a new one. Price difference of about ~$135

I just bought this for my daughter as she was keep asking for a new laptop and also able to play games on it. When we got in store, there was an open-box excellent condition, priced for $930, we opt for that one, since BestBuy now running their extended return up until Jan 15th (as we were told). Whoever return this, did not even boot the laptop, it was brand new condition. This is of course, this is 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Laptop (what is posted here), 2023 one was still pricey for our budget.
This laptop comes with two slot RAM, one is occupied with 16GB (soldered on motherboard), so I we got additional 16GB DDR5 RAM (matching specs what's already in), that way, it is 16X16 dual memory configuration. Reviewed several posts about RAM configuration and all saying 16 x 24, 16 x 48, no improvement. so, if you want to upgrade RAM, you just need to opt for 16GB one.

Unfortunately, it comes with 512GB SSD (a step back from older version), but we haven't upgrade that, we will see how fast she will fill out - I am sure will be filled out pretty fast...!
one thing we realized, when we first time boot the laptop, she told me why my hard disk showing 340GB total disk, when I checked disk manager, I found that there was 90+gb unallocated disk space, I fixed that (extended the partition) - that was totally weird.

so far, she loves her laptop! I am also pretty impressed how compact and portable it is for a gaming laptop and pretty good price too if you ask me (and if you are tight budget like us).

I've ordered 5 of them. 4 were perfect and one had a small issue with the touchpad. I'd say save the money and go open-box.

Just picked this up as an open box - excellent. Laptop isn't scratched or marred, but was a little bit dirty. Power brick is scratched to hell, though. Looks like it was drug around on a dirty wooden floor, or a driveway.

I need to stress the GPU for coil whine, but if that's no issue it seems like a solid laptop for the price. Really like the screen and the keyboard is comfortable. Don't care for the mid-body power connector, but I can live with it.

My open box is perfect until I run 3dmark, serious coil whine from GPU and it is the loudest whine I ever heard of.
