Upgrading from a 2019 Zephyrus with a 1070 in it. Thanks for posting. I was also able to score an Open Box in Excellent condition for more than 50% less than I paid for my 2019

Only 8gb is soldered, you cam upgrade the other 8 to a 32 for a total of 40gb
Thanks for the info! That makes this more tempting

Are you going to carry it around much? A 14" and 17" are drastically different as far as portability.
Yes. Travel light. But the LG is super light too.

Do the top keys default to their special capabilities or default to function keys? E.g. if I press `F5` will that trigger `F5` in windows or do I need to do `Fn + F5`?

Any new buyers having any issues with completing Cloud Recovery? (My open box unit was formatted with a clean W11 install but missing all the ASUS drivers/settings so I needed to run it)

I get to about 10% in the Download process and it errors out with Error Code 0x00240063.

He is incorrect. 16GB is soldered and there is an open RAM slot. $45 buys you another 16GB DDR5 4800mhz stick for 32GB total running in dual channel. This is way better than 8gb soldered

I feel like with the 24s around the corner, a further price drop is imminent
I'm not so sure we'll see any further major discounts given the major overhaul they did for this year's models. I'm betting the new models are going to come in at a higher initial MSRP and let these sell out around this price as the budget option.

They said they are going to continue selling the 2023 models so I wouldn't expect prices to drop a ton lower than this

Default but ghelper lets you default to special capabilities

You can, pretty often, get the f15 with a 4070 for the same price you paid for the 4050. I would definitely return this a15 and wait on the f15 or get this g14, which is o a whole different category.
Oh well the open box is dead now. Guess I will wait

Bought this for $1099 last FP deal earlier in the month. Going to head back to Best Buy and have it price matched on my receipt ! With the BB Plus basic plan this gives you 60 days from time of purchase to have it price matched and to even return it if you change your mind, so to me the plan is worth it. Thanks for the updated deal!

Okay, but what are you going to do about lacking a second m.2 slot?

What is real world battery life on this just doing minor office stuff on chrome and OneNote? Also, doesn't this one have an update to usb4 to support Thunderbolt dock?

I was only correcting the comment on the RAM slots. The unit has 1 nvme slot currently occupied with a 512gb ssd. Swapping the 512gb for a 1TB or 2TB is trivial and then you have a 512gb to throw into another laptop or desktop (or sell). If you need two ssds for some reason, this is not a suitable unit.
