Small shop in the west coast but Brett (info at ploutone) is a good guy and very responsive. Evertune Bridge (Basically superglue for strings) and Seymour Duncan - Sentient and Nazgul - seriously hot yet tamed. Neck is Composite and feels more like Charvel and Jacksons than Ibanez's.

Ok so i own several Corts now. Bellamy I hate. The rest I love .. The Fatty, the Cheapo G110 and the pro G300 is a dream come true (Orgasmic). The Fatty and Cheapo pickups are trash to me but I digress as they are wonderful when compared to what else is out there at this price point.

I've been waiting on the Duality and the Evertune because the Duality is just hyper orgasmic and the Evertune because I have avoided them with bulk being the reason for every Evertune guitar I have tried. Supposedly and this is from Youtube videos - The way the guys hold this guitar and explicitly state how light it feels I tend to believe them or choose to believe them.

Got the Duality II at a sick price and the Evertune is their Best of the Best. Being a Cort brand junkie (ahem like Fdr and IBZ) I have to get all of their best value and best period but that is my addiction, not yours.

Seriously this would go head to head against my FujiGen, Ibanez Prestige and beat some of them at it. No comparison to any Fultras that I own or the Puhrs that everyone drools over. In my opinion they are absolutely disgusting for the money we pay for them.

Gibson .. No comment.

Subjectively It feels like a $250 pedal from Wampler that I thought only crazy people bought until I got one and it just changed everything. Cort Fatty and other Corts at a higher price point above are like that.

OTD (Out the Door - Different from shipped as it includes Tax or Not)
$799 OTD

What is interesting is the build quality without the bulk. This has been the Evertune Achilles Heel.
Here is one of many youtube in-love videos [youtube.com]

$900 OTD
Here are the Big Box stores with OTD for the most of us at around $900.

There is even a Walmart seller selling this .. Looks like Cort is having its Black Friday now

I just got the Duality at a crazy price from the Ploutone Folks.
Good Deal?

So for the folks that don't know about Cort .. I'll cut to the chase .. All big brands for the most part get their higher end imports - Like Jackson, Charvel Pros from Korea - Cort is the company that makes them. They used to make em all but now they only make the highest import lines for these brands. This idea was created in Japan by the Fuji Gen Factory which now makes the Ibanez Prestiges - The Fender Japan Custom Shop and some other lines and Jackson PRO MIJ and on and on.

Both these businesses got the idea that why let the middleman make money when we could give better quality to the end customer. It's a stupid trap because in the end they become just like their customers but in that honeymoon period when they are changing the world they make their best products. Happened with FujiGen in the 70s and 80s. Cort is having that moment right now so get one and hold on to it.

Good point, can just speak from experience as a bonafide guitar addict (Meant that as a liability). I have almost all you name it high end and some few low end (Price Wise) guitars. So my collection is mostly 2k+ guitars. Its been my experience that these Corts FatBoy and above have a very balanced approach to the overall package. Appointments, Brand Name Parts without sacrificing our Back Disks. I think Yamaha is getting there as well.

I know its subjective but the best sub 300 guitar is an ibanez AZES. Not the Gios or RGs. The Best 2k guitar is also an Ibanez AZ Prestige series, again not the RG. The charvel and jackons have become neglected businesses after the acquisition. Heck Fender won't even include in their site. EVH I think is their newest acquisition and probably still in the interim state of creative autonomy. That won't last long.

ESP LTD and Schecter beings owned by Hisatake Shibuya is an interesting anomaly as they aren't truly japanase nor are they independent in their decisions like PRS. This has definitely had a negative impact on their creativity which seems to be very much to go after the Gibson market. I think they are wasting their talent doing that and should focus on the best for brand and not the owner.

There are a few addicts like me on this forum so although we might not be thre best authority on Guitars we do come close.
EVH is, as I understand it, a licensing and distribution deal rather than ownership of the brand. If that's correct, then the marketing is likely more the responsibility of EVH than Fender. If Fender can't deliver their end, then EVH would just move to another manufacturing partner.

I'm sure if that's wrong, someone will be along shortly to correct me.

For those that don't know this brand but know Fender, Ibanez, Charvel and Jackson how would you compare to them ?

Cort is legit. They might not have the heritage of those other brands, but they are great for the money.

Most guitars are actually made by a couple factories. Most are no longer US made. Then they did Japan for a while. Then they went to Korea. Then family members from that business took it to Indonesia where most cheap low mid tier is produced now.

Yup EVH is outright owned by Fender. Actually I was wrong that they weren't the last big acquistion. Bigsby was acquired after EVH.

EVH cashed in long before his passing.

The benefits of doing business with an Owner versus some Senior Manager who doesn't even wanna be at work right now.
