Pros:
5800H is a high end Zen 3, near identical to a 7730U.
Has expandable memory, extendable to 40GB easily
512GB NVME + Wifi6
Cons:
Screen is basically a D to F grade panel with 45% NTSC
No backlit keyboard
6 hour rated battery life so we are talking 4-5 hours brand new realistically here.
No USB-C charging, what year are we in? This one feels the worst having to lug power plug around. Everyone's damn iPhone charger will charge every laptop.
Feels like okay value for $420. Wish it was $400 like last time. Can't seem to find a better laptop in this price range. If this had USB-C charging, would buy it today.
Hmmm

Maybe it's because I'm pushing 30, but a laptop like this is insane for the price. Just 10-15 years ago a laptop of this form factor and specification was easily 900-1500. They were called Ultrabooks. As far as the chargers go, it is a bit of a bummer, but realistically anyone actually moving around a 16" laptop is going to be carrying a bag or backpack with a charger in it regardless.
And even today's worst screens are miles beyond anything from just 7 or 8 years ago.
I dunno, comparing this to $400-500 laptops from 2010-2015... I'm amazed at what you get for the price. Of course, I haven't bought a laptop since then. Not sure how you can be upset about a $400 machine not being on the bleeding edge of technology.

However, from those who purchased this before, the keyboard is NOT backlit.
