Been $399 and $429 multiple times. This is not really a good price.

I have seen those prices jumping around, but it's $449.99 is still a okay price

It's a three-year-old CPU.with 12GB RAM. That may not matter depending on intended use, but three generations of improvements to the CPU are already released.

Actually, it was $379 at one point a month or so ago, and I picked one up then for a client.
$399 is great price, but not sure $450 is that great, considering if you wait, it will surely drop back down.

I know this is entry level for gaming. Will this work for a kid who plays fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft?

How does this stack up against an Intel Core i5-1335U?

According to benchmarking sites like cpubenchmark it is 19% faster if using all cores or 14% slower if using only one core. That being said the integrated GPUs are quite similar with only about a 1% difference and according to their rated TDP (Used to say how much power is used but not always correct) the i5 uses 15W and the Ryzen uses 35W so in theory the i5 gets better battery life on laptops.
