It doesn't matter if your hardware is more powerful than a shield. What matters is that your hardware hasn't been processing millions of images for years trying to figure out the best way to upscale images.
This is inaccurate--- advanced processing similar to, or better than, the shield is available on PC via things like MadVR. Which I use.

And Shields "AI" isn't doing what you think it is either-

It's basically a scaler that's based on Lanczos with no anti ringing filter, an extra layer of edge enhancement and sharpening. That's all the Shield's "AI" upscaling does.
If you look at that youtube link from your first response about Buffy dvd vs Bluray comparison, that guy's Captured image is rendering a 2.4 pure gamma curve as is typical of modern tvs.
The (many many) problems with the remaster go far beyond color. Watch the video I posted earlier. This is why most still watch the DVDs instead that aren't butchered up like the remaster was.
If anything the kanto was better than the sanus, because it was easier to move around. Costco is a reputable company, so any mount they sell is probably of decent quality. As long as your mount is rated for 75 lbs you are fine, feel free to overspec it if you are worried. But reputable manufacturers probably overspec their equipment anyway, and costco ain't gonna let you sell stuff through their storefront if you aren't reputable.
But seriously, I would suggest trying to move your couch closer before wasting money on a bigger screen. If it is not Feng shui enough, then obviously you gotta do what you gotta do.

Of course they both looked good, the LG seemed a touch not as bright but the LG feed seemed dimmer overall (which I have no idea why-eye roll).
Anyhow, 3 BBY employees all said that they would get the C3 over the Samsung and that both had the same panels & only difference is the processing of course. Asked about apple tv or NVIDIA & they said, yeah but if your content is still only 1080, that's all you'll get; as in if you don't pay for the higher 4K etc from Netflix then the LG C3 would do better upscale.. Again, I don't have a dog in this fight - just commenting b/c I'm wrestling on which one to get. I saw the LG price on Monday & should've just got that one. ps, I've read countless SD threads..

Or if Amazon had the C3 for the same price.
I have to get the best possible deal or I'll sour grapes myself out of a new tv, no problem.
Would Amazon open up those cancelled C3 orders for others to buy?
I followed l337fool's instructions and pretty happy with it however certain HDR content is so dark. For example Ozark on Netflix or TLOU2 on PS5 is so dark that I had to turn on constract enhancer to low to make it watchable. All energy saving settings are off.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Having compared both calibrated side by side you can't go wrong with either.
At this close price point DV is just a plus.
This whole how HDR is "implemented" is kinda silly, there's a lot of implementation that happens way before we ever view it.
The irony, here, how people believe how technically Samsung technology is better, as is dynamic HDR is to static HDR.
Yet that implementation with these displays gets overlooked.
LG/Sony have the edge on how content is "implemented" imo.
Great feedback! Thank you kind sir!
Samsung - QD Oled is brighter and more vibrant colors vs the LG Oled.
You lose Dolby vision with Samsung but it's not a big deal and hardly noticeable. HDR10 looks better to me than Dolby vision anyways.
The software of lg is a little nicer but tizen works fine and you can always hook up an Apple TV for software.

I currently have the s89c and it's amazing.
I'm a separate note I also ordered the 100 inch U8k Hisense mini led.
The Samsung has slightly better contrast and more accurate colors.
But the 100 inch Hisense screen and its immersion is absolutely worth keeping. The Hisense is brighter too. Never thought I'd buy and keep a Hisense TV.
If it wasn't for the 100inch screen I definitely keep the Samsung s89c and be very happy.
