This only has 16MB of L3 cache. The 5600 has 32MB. This will somewhat impact games. For example, in Cyberpunk, it's about 15% slower than a 5600

Currently the 5600 is $135 on Amazon. That's a $50 difference.

If that's "so little more" then why not add another $50 and get a 5700x at $175. It goes on…

While I'd never personally buy this unit, this is a great value buy for someone looking for a budget build with cooler.
Cheap upgrade for those still use Zen 1 to 2 chips. The pcie 3.0 limitation isn't a problem if you are reusing your old mobo

Pcie 3.0
Doesn't really matter that much. Look up game benchmarks - this thing still performs well enough against cpu's like a 5600X or 5800X (within 10-20fps, where framerate is already 100fps+).

Yup. I just might bite to replace my 2200G since I picked up a cheap RX580.

Good deal but the 5600 "should" be $100 these days. I mean that's the price I paid for it nearly 2 years ago.

This is actually a slightly better ryzen 3600, minus pci express gen 4 support. There you have it

It has half the amount of cache though. They are roughly the same but given the choice I would pick a 3600 over a 5500.

Look up benchmarks and game reviews. The 5500 does surprisingly better mainly because singer core performance is quite a bit better

That couldn't even run Candy Crush.
