Existing customer total - $199+ TAx + $35 upgrade feee
New customer ccan cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV though . Make sure to pay off the phone before you cancel the line and make atleast one call or text to activate the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is redefining the epic standard – both for what a smartphone can do with video and for what you can communicate create and experience with it. In other words if you’ve got something to say Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus makes it possible to say anything you want with video at any time-even in the darkness of night.
In Verizon , no risk. Get the phone , activate it , Make a call, Pay off the phone ( either with in 3 days to avoid activation or after 14 days ) and cancel the line. Phone will be autoamatically unlocked.
Risk is in ATT phone which require , sim swap.
I hope this help.
This has the inefficient 8 gen 1 processor, meaning you'll have disappointing battery life. The S23+ has among the best battery life (plus it's newer, will get updates for longer, ...). So if you're not awfully tight on money, you'll likely be more pleased for longer with the S23+.
Edit: Also, the S23+ has 256 GB of storage, while the S22+ in this deal has 128 GB.
I'm going to practice on a Walmart/Verizon Samsung Galaxy a14 to make sure this works.
Trying to get the schedule right. Does this work?
- Monday (Day 0) Buy phone on Walmart website.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Phone arrives with 2-day shipping.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Activate, make a phone call and text.
- Wednesday (Day 2) or Thursday (Day 3) Call Verizon support to cancel service.
- Wait at least 60 days. You can tweak out the phone during this time, trying to uninstall bloatware, setting up an SD card, etc...
- Punch IMEI into https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...-own-phone BYOD checker. It should say the phone is unlocked and good. (It should be unlocked automatically)
- Re-activate on any USA mobile network. I'll probably go with US Mobile (A MVNO for Verizon and T-Mobile).

It's not pickup, you will have to go to the store and if they have the phone you want in stock, set up the plan with them, and they will activate it right then. They would not match the online price, and I had to do a credit check to see the price of the S23+. I decided to bite the bullet and take a chance. The associate was surprised, but the in store price on the S23+ was the same as the online price ($9.98/month for 36 months). I set up the phone, activated it, and only paid the tax. Haven't tried to pay it off yet.
Called the customer care to payoff the device, was told that device agreement was not fully completed or something. Transferred the call to financial department and was told that the policy is to pay the 1st bill which is 35+75+tax, so I can pay off the device. Probably, such policy might not be in device agreement but they make you pay the 1st bill. Hope this helps others
Canceled my s23+ by porting out. Got $412 bill amount in the email today. No official bill yet. Presumably partial charge + $360 plus taxes. Net of taxes, likely charged $30 for services for 3 days of service. Will provide more information if I get the paper bill.
For those who did this deal do you pay the first month plan of $65 minimum plan ?
Cancel in the first 3 days or after 14 days and you should have just a prorated bill. Maybe activation.

How long did you wait after activation? I believe you want to do it within 3 days of activation or after 14 days.

Sounds correct. No activation fee because of within 3 days of activation?
well i'm one of the victims of the "Activation Error". to note, when i had to pick a plan, the Unlimited showed up as "-$10.00" so that's a dead giveaway. I've tried three times now. Will call VZW to see what is going on.
I may return in store and see if the electronics section has it in stock for the same price and give it a go. If not I'll just pass on it.
VZW CS was of no use. I don't have an account set up with them even though I tried three times. They suggested I go into a VZW store but that seems like just passing me on to someone else. He said the problem is mostly likely Walmart incorrectly sent the account info to activate the SIM. Or didn't send it at all.
I talked to Walmart CS (which is a joke) and they said to take it up with VZW since the service and "payments" are through VZW.
I am trying to find Walmarts T&Cs on activating a cell phone within xx number of days of purchase but I can't find it. Any one know or have a link?
I was trying to figure out how Walmart will know if I activated the account. Although not really worth chancing a chargeback in a few months for a $200 phone.

I tried to pay off but both customer service and in store said there is a wait time (1 month) before i can payoff. Will try to cancel the line
I went to the nearest corporate store today (https://www.verizon.com/stores/ will tell you if it's a company store or an Authorized Retailer ). As soon as I mentioned that I was already a Verizon customer, they didn't seem too interested in helping me (most likely because they weren't going to earn a commission on me). They told me that I had to do it through the app, and there was nothing they could do, even after I explained that I should be able to pay it off with cash in store.
Went to the second closest corporate store, and they were nothing but helpful. The associate pulled up my account on his tablet, and wanted to make sure that I wasn't receiving any additional promotions that paying off early would negate. Then he said that he would look into if he could process payment on it. Then he sent an account authorization text to the new line of service (bring your new phone with you), and I approved it. He said that the only method of payment that was available was cash. I informed him that I had read that online and came prepared with cash. He processed the payment, and the rest is history. A+ customer service.
If they try to tell you that it is not possible to pay the device off in store, ask them to try anyway, and tell them that your "friend" was able to do it recently. The person that handled my payment did not know how to do it beforehand, but just went ahead with it, and it worked out.
Anyone had this issue?
I got the phone delivered but it's not activated,
Called Verizon and they aren't able to locate that new line on the account, called Walmart and they said I need to go to store, get UPC scanned which will activate it.
(Visited 2 stores and they don't have mobile activation guy :/)

And this Case for the S23+ [verizon.com] rings up $4.99 too, down from $42.
Maybe more? You don't see the price until the cart.
