Great chair, when it goes on sale for this price. If you're a little over 5'10 you need to do the head rest hack (took 10 mins). If youre rocking a little more padding on the side and rear I recommend the Dexley. Also roller blade wheels made this much more comfortable to sit on.

Bought this chair last time it was on sale and I got what I paid for. It's a 100 dollar chair. Tried the headrest hack and I didn't work well for me. I'm 5'10 but have a long waist and my shoulders still bumped into the headrest. It was very uncomfortable as it pushed my neck too forward, where I just found it easier to remove it completely. Arm rests feel very cheap like they could break if there's too much weight on it. Wheels are crap. Overall I don't regret the purchase since it was a cheaper chair but it does feel like it's cheap.

I had Hyken and sold it I am 6 ft 4 and it is not comfortable, but I paid little more than this and it was a while ago too. I do see Dexley for 150 so I may try that one out since I have points and coupons. FYI if you drop off Amazon package in Staples they gave me 15 percent off coupon individual code so you make it sweeter.

I made the mistake of going down the rabbit hole on all the mods you can do to this chair and it soured me on it.

$100 and change out the door is appealing, until you start adding up all the extra effort to make it usable.

The headrest mod should be done with a right angle screwdriver (even though the original instructions say you can get by with just poking the screwdriver through the mesh, it seems lazy).

Then, there's multiple different recommendations on how to reinforce the mesh so it's more comfortable and doesn't sag as easily.

The wheels seem like the standard affair, but I see a lot of posts where people were unhappy and swapped them for rollerblade wheels (not unreasonable, but it is another $15 or more).

There's even a bunch of STLs available so you can print parts for it.

It just seems overwhelming when you consider there's $120 clones on Amazon that have addressed some of these issues.
Do you have any Amazon links for chairs that address the shortcomings of this chair?

Don't buy the hype, this chair sucks and it's for people under 5'2". The head rest hack still has it sticking way too far forward.
Even Kevin Hart would say you are too short!

I bought Staples Hyken in 2016. It's still going strong. I'm 5'8'' and never installed the head rest.

So I may have had a hand in popularizing the headrest mod if you recognize my username in the original imgur post.

I have both a Hyken and Dexley. I'm 5'10" 170lb and I prefer the Hyken due to the multiple angles you can lock the tilt at. The Dexley only locks upgright which is too straight for me and I don't like the free-floating lean back modes in general.

My Hyken's getting pretty old now, coming up on 10 years now. I haven't been using it as often in the past few years due to moving, but it's still kicking when I do use it. The armrests have started to crack, the plastic back frame doesn't really snap together cleanly anymore, and the front foam under the mesh moved a bit out but is still hanging in there. Mesh is still comfortable but understandably not as tight as it used to be. No problem with anything else honestly.

My Dexley is about 4 years old and the no tilt lock was such a dealbreaker that I picked up a used aeron(1996) from work since it was quite cheap. And honestly I still like the way the hyken fits me. Dexley is much wider than hyken though so I can see how larger people may like it over the hyken.

Think with the headrest mod it'll comfortably fit someone 6'1" 175lbs? I've sat on the Dexley, and that was incredibly comfortable, and I'm curious if Hyken will be similar with the mod.

This is my current chair. It's not very comfortable for me. I'm also shorter so the headrest is more troublesome than helps. I would also recommend elbow cushions for comfort.

What's the head rest hack? I'm 6'2" and hate this chair. The lumbar is on point, but the headrest literally is in the middle of my shoulder blades. I'm about to remove it all together. It's so extreme, I'd say it's made for 5'2" or below.

Is it just me or the headrest upsidedown? I have this chair and it's incredibly disappointing. The lumbar falls ever sit and the headrest literally is in the middle of my shoulder blades. I think this was made for ants.
