$100 and change out the door is appealing, until you start adding up all the extra effort to make it usable.
The headrest mod should be done with a right angle screwdriver (even though the original instructions say you can get by with just poking the screwdriver through the mesh, it seems lazy).
Then, there's multiple different recommendations on how to reinforce the mesh so it's more comfortable and doesn't sag as easily.
The wheels seem like the standard affair, but I see a lot of posts where people were unhappy and swapped them for rollerblade wheels (not unreasonable, but it is another $15 or more).
There's even a bunch of STLs available so you can print parts for it.
It just seems overwhelming when you consider there's $120 clones on Amazon that have addressed some of these issues.

I have both a Hyken and Dexley. I'm 5'10" 170lb and I prefer the Hyken due to the multiple angles you can lock the tilt at. The Dexley only locks upgright which is too straight for me and I don't like the free-floating lean back modes in general.
My Hyken's getting pretty old now, coming up on 10 years now. I haven't been using it as often in the past few years due to moving, but it's still kicking when I do use it. The armrests have started to crack, the plastic back frame doesn't really snap together cleanly anymore, and the front foam under the mesh moved a bit out but is still hanging in there. Mesh is still comfortable but understandably not as tight as it used to be. No problem with anything else honestly.
My Dexley is about 4 years old and the no tilt lock was such a dealbreaker that I picked up a used aeron(1996) from work since it was quite cheap. And honestly I still like the way the hyken fits me. Dexley is much wider than hyken though so I can see how larger people may like it over the hyken.
