In your case, probably never. Haha

But the point allows for getting into corners (think like a wooden door).

If you're just sanding something completely flat, then this wouldn't be the proper tool.
lol... thanks. I ended up buying it anyway... "just in case" - this is why I have a cabinet full of unopened Milwaukee tools. Because you never know, I might use one once in the future Big Grin

It seems like the Milwaukee sanding pads are overpriced. Can I DIY some pads for this sander to save money?
I use the 3m cubirton sandnet discs on my random orbital sander. They often get tattered on the edges and don't work well anymore. So, I cut them to fit this and get another use out of them. Any net sandpaper can be cut to work on this. Just use the base as a template and cut it with a utility knife.

I know this is a noob question, but I've never understood the hack. I always get hung up because when I choose pickup for the battery and delivery for the tool, or vice versa, it gives me a notification to pick the same pickup or delivery location for each item.

So pickup (or get delivered) both items and then return the one you don't want.

Just used it for about two hours on some drywall… it's not worth the money. An oscillator with a sanding attachment is just as good albeit I understand the mechanisms are different but the end result is the same. Also for corners… this does what square sanding sponges do needing to buy an angled sanding sponge. Returning it

Sanding drywall is not a good way to assess a sander. Its not even meant for that.

I got this similar deal last time but the HD cashier said I can't just return the battery since the are sold together for the promo. I've done this hack on other tool combos but this time the battery was not returnable. Any ideas?

If you bought as separate skus and not a package sku then your receipt/invoice should clearly show the prorated price for each individual sku and that would be the equivalent return value.

If the employee is just arbitrarily enforcing a "sold as bundle" rule then just go during another shift or to a different store.

I tried both and believe me this one is a lot better. The Oscillating one, even on the low speed setting can wear out the sanding sheet faster and melt the velcro pad. Oscillating can get a little heavy after long use, even if you use the m12 fuel.

You are absolutely correct. After a sanding project of a cabinet, the Velcro on the sanding attachment melted off at the edges. Did the job, but wasn't designed to last.

You return the "free" battery for $50+ and keep the sander = $97

Can you return the sander and keep the battery for free?

Tip: Buy some hook and loop sandpaper and cut them to size if you run out of refills (be careful when ordering off brand triangle refills as the Milwaukee tends to run slightly larger).

Today this combo is available for $129.00. Maybe you can hack this price down if you don't want the battery, but I suggest keeping the battery. This sander can drain battery's faster than I can charge them.
