Does SoloCam S220 support Apple HomeKit?
No, it doesn't.
How does storage work? Can I use cloud or NAS storage?
No, S220 Solocam doesn't support cloud or NAS storage
How many hours of sunlight daily keeps it running?
3 hours daily will keep it running.
* With optimal sunlight, the built-in 0.9W solar panel can collect and store 200 to 400 mAh per day. eufy SoloCam S220 uses 100 to 130 mAh over a day and night of average use.
Does Solocam S220 support 7*24 hours of recording?
No, it doesn't.
Ive had this for about a year. Installed in the fall. Never had to charge it all winter (live in Boston) it did get down to 2 bars of battery in the winter. Triggered about 3-4 times each day. Since about April the camera has received enough sunlight to be fully charged now.
Would recommend.

Is this useful without homebase? First time purchasing, any suggestions appreciated.
It has to be in range of the homebase. If your homebase is too far away you'll have to connect it to your home wifi and you can't record to the homebase, just to the micro-SD card.

Retrigger time can be minimum 5 seconds and max clip size is 2 minutes so technically if plugged in you lose only a few minutes a day if it gets reliable power and constant triggers
I wasn't going to buy the single in the OP but at $40 per, my itchy trigger finger couldn't hold back lol. I really don't need these but will use them to supplement my current NVR system. I see the Homebase 3 has been on sale a few times at $90, so I'm guessing that will come back at some point.

These have internal mmc flash instead of sd slot like other indoor cameras
The first 1 second of every detection is not recorded for some reason. Have the eufy cam 3 solar cam set of 6 cameras
That's one of the things I don't like about solar/ battery cameras. I have both Eufy wired and the battery camera. The wired does have that 3-second pre-recording feature a solar/ battery doesn't.

Not sure but 20 might be the cap if it matters for people currently in their ecosystem and have legacy ones to take a slot

Once the flash memory dies you can use HB3

It will give you ability to have ai processing and not bog down your current wifi and with sata ssd storage ( not m.2)
