A7 IV might come down to 2k price ($1.5k with edu) and the new A7 V will be at $2,498.00 or more.
At the same time they might announce an A1 ii with global shutter. Also A7S IV with a higher MP to be able to shoot 8k. I am predicting this summer or by Oct.

The pictures you will miss by not buying are worth more than a few hundred bucks. besides, when you start buying good lenses, you'll realize the bodies are negligible.

I prefer aps-c over full frame for quite a few reasons. I'm not going after ultimate IQ.

I have huge 3x5 prints blown up from this camera that my guests enjoy, so every year I keep packing my a6000 and leave the big full frame at home.

For you yes. Some are questioning rather a camera this old is worth anything at all.
