For years I've been jealous of anyone with an EPP account. Out of desperation for this deal I entered my work email here to check eligibility: https://www.samsung.com/us/shop/o...workplace/

And it said I'm eligible! I'm shocked because nowhere in my work employee discount portal does it mention Samsung. It explicitly mentions many other companies but not a single trace of Samsung anywhere.

Give it a try if you haven't already.

I think this looks better than any TV at this price.

But its not OLED. Thats the main issue. Its not OLED.
As a OLED owner of multiple panels, I have to say the OLED crowd can be completely exhausting.

Every single monitor or TV thread, you get at least one guy saying something exactly like this.

Mine came in the other day. This monitor is VERY similar to my Samsung qn85c 85" TV so I was already pretty familiar when I got it. I have it hooked up to my PC with a 3080 via Display Port at 4k 120hz. So far I have not experienced horrible ghosting. Compared to say an OLED maybe it does. When I think bad ghosting I think one of the early Westinghouse 27" LCDs I used to own. I hooked up Motorstorm on PS3 to the thing. You could actually see ghost shadows following all of the cars, on your car, the environment etc. This screen has no such problem. It is better and brighter than my TCL 43" 4k 60hz TV I was using on my desk prior to this. So far I have been playing Fortnite, Fnite Rocket Racing, the old Doom update, watching YouTube and general browsing. I doubt you can get a much better 43" without blowing way closer to a grand. Then you have OLED burn in to worry about. Only issues you do have to tweak the out of box settings to get the best picture. Also there is what looks like the tiniest dead pixel on the far lower right corner just above the minutes on the windows clock. Looks like a tiny dust speck you don't even see if any colors are displayed so I will keep it. Next one could have one dead center and way more noticable.

I already ordered it but can anyone who already has received theirs confirm that it has a Headphone-In jack? I plan on connecting some Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers to it via an auxiliary cable to the Headphone-In jack to replace the likely weak stock speakers.

It has a headphone jack. It also has arc so you can use a soundbar that is hdmi arc only like Sonos some Bose and the Samsung s61b. I have the s61b and it fits perfectly under the monitor and it also activated q-symphony to my surprise. That said it is massive and I'm still getting used to the size

I've found matte monitors tend to dull colors a bit. Really any non saturated colors tend to start looking like a dull "fog" instead of the actual color. Can anyone speak to how much the matte does this on this model?

Looks like to Samsung's policies to return monitors is 5% restocking + shipping.

Thanks for the reply. I'd love to do that but my son will be hooking up an Xbox Series X and a PS5 to the two HDMI ports, which doesn't leave room for an HDMI-Arc soundbar without a splitter I guess. Also, this will be more like a close TV to his bed so the 43" size won't be an issue. It's the perfect size to fit on his bureau for streaming services, Xbox, and PS5.

I almost bought this yesterday on there for $380, but I decided to go with the curved 32" version instead, even though it was $450. 43" is just too big as a monitor to not be curved, imo.
I am deciding to go this route as well. It is for my work station, that also doubles as my video game station, and 43" is just too large.
Debating if I should go G7 for $450 or if the G8 OLED is worth a hundred dollars more at $550.

Ended up finding some availability for best buy pickup. While being up-close to a panel this large is more immersive, it's less comfortable. Especially for office work, but even gaming you end up moving many details outside your field of focus.

From testing, I'd personally would want my eyes to be 3-4 feet away from the screen which isn't feasible in my setup.

Since this is an uncurved VA panel, you do lose some color on the edges when sitting closer than 3 feet.

I would prefer if it weren't matte, but I think it's a better matte coating than my other monitors. Local dimming is good. You see blooming at times, but at night it definitely looks better than my other monitors. No you aren't going to mistake it for a glossy panel OLED, but in the dark it often gets not far off.

HDR is OK. I think reviewers say 600 nits with >300 zone local dimming or oled is the minimum you need where HDR makes a difference. I agree with that.

There is an issue where text looks horrible in desktop with HDR enabled in windows. From googling this is very common in many 4k HDR monitors. So if I keep it, I will probably learn the hotkey to turn HDR on/off.

It seems most of the negative reviews are about the software. I agree it takes too many clicks to do things and switching inputs isn't intuitive but it's still far better than any monitor software I've used.

I think most likely I'll go back to my 34" ultra-wide. Until the universe releases a 4k 36"- 37", I think that's the best size on a normal desktop setup.

Agreed. I think it makes more sense to buy this as a smaller TV, console gaming display, and sometime PC display, as long as you are a few feet away from it in a chair or bed. It's too big up close while sitting at a desk.

I would say the 42" LG C2 if you can find it at or around this price. I have both a 48" and 65" LG C2's and they are amazing.
